Size of room, but it worked?

The lady at reception went beyond: choice of the room, luggage store, use of facilities after check out (as my bus was leaving late). New bedding and comfy and clean room - basic, but did not miss anything (except maybe for a bed side lamp). Met some nice people and enjoyed my stay. What could you ask for more?

Location was great. Easy to get to nearest isite and everything in town

Die Unterkunft ist sehr zentral gelegen. Der Intercity-Busstop, der See und der Kuirau-Park sind jeweils innerhalb von 5-10 min erreichbar. Ebenfalls direkt in der Umgebung sind viele leckere Restaurants umd Imbisse. Das Bett fand ich sehr bequem, Gemeinschaftsküche und -Bad waren recht sauber und gut nutzbar. Das Beste ist das superfreundliche Personal! Ich habe aufgrund meines großen Gepäcks ein größeres Zimmer bekommen (häufiger Kritikpunkt hier, dass dafür kein Platz ist). Da ich Rotorua erst abends mit dem Intercity-Nachtbus verlassen habe, durfte ich mein Gepäck tagsüber in der Unterkunft lassen und habe einen Schlüssel für die Küche (mit Sofa und Fernseher bekommen, um dort zu warten. Das hat mich echt gerettet, denn abends alleine draußen ist es unangenehm und außerhalb von Restaurants gibt es keinen guten Platz zum Warten.

Der Geruch im Zimmer war anfangs etwas unangenehm, das kann aber am vorherigen Gast gelegen haben. Auf der Straße treiben sich ein paar komische Gestalten rum. Da die Unterkunft aber in der Nähe von belebten Restaurants liegt, ist es hier vermutlich sicherer als in den weiter abgelegenen Motels an der Fenton Street.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The manager was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more pleasant. The hotel itself is very comfortable and well-maintained. Its location is also very convenient, close to the city center. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Room only for myself

The two bed rooms are pretty small for accommodating two people. The shower cabins are so small and narrow, that you have to squeeze into them while closing the door. Some rooms heat up quite a lot during the day, but there's no air condition. The area around the hostel seems a bit shady sometimes.
