The Brownston Hostel

Overall the place seemed clean and they didn't have bunk beds, so I didn't have to worry about being on the top bunk. I was in a dorm room for three and there was plenty of space in the room. The location was good - not too far from the main area and very close to a major grocery store.

They need more hooks in their showers. They had two hooks, one directly above the other. I would have really appreciated more shower hooks. They also have a lot of stairs, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just something that future guests should be aware of.

The communal kitchen was great, well equipped and clean with considerate guests and frequent housekeeping. Gas stove has high heat output (4 x 2 burners) and there was an immersion blender, oven, airfryer and four microwaves. Plenty of fridge space The bathroom was spotless and very well designed. The beds are comfortable (medium-firm) and the room is spacious for a hostel. New World Supermarket is just behind the hotel and you can get affordable and fresh ingredients. It's very central location is brilliant, there's plenty of eateries and sports equipment rental shops within 5 minutes walking distance

There was loud chatting noise on our first night from the ground floor There are little hooks in the room for hanging clothes. There is no air conditioning, though the toilet is vented so there is some air circulation

No parking was a challenge, and could be cold in winter
