Marineland Beachfront Accommodation

The size of the unit was great. Having the restaurant right there was definitely a bonus. The staff were all lovely. It delivered great value. The area was great for evening walks. Would happily stay again

Room was clean and amenities basic but satisfactory and the bed was comfortable. Reception was very friendly and flexible with check in time and allowed key handover before typical 2 pm check in time if room was ready. This motel very convenient to the Airport (5 minutes away) and many restaurant/bar options are just over the estuary bridge along West Quay and/or within Ahuriri Village which also has some nice shopping. However, most convenient is that an Indian food restaurant (Indian Tikka) was attached to the facility, so I ate there and the food was great! This Motel has a small indoor heated pool which, while I never used, would be great for family stays as it suits younger children. Not a 'lap pool' (too small) but perfect for splash play. I would recommend this motel to anyone with an early departure time at the Airport because the distance is so close and getting there is normally stress free.

My room was in a row of 3 units (22-24) behind the restaurant building, accessed by a narrow separate lane to the main Motel entrance. I needed help from Reception with getting the TV started and the back of one of the remotes (i.e. battery cover) kept falling off, plus the heat pump would not work properly as it seemed to have settings that were locked in so the unit stopped after a few minutes and it got cold. Without an instruction guide I tried to reset it but that never worked, so I gave up. It was late by this time (after 9:30 pm). An unanswered call to Reception was then returned but nothing was able to be done until after I checked out early the next morning, so I had to use a noisy fan heater that was supplied. While generally clean, some detail cleaning would not hurt in some areas. There were no spare extra pillows or blankets - a warm blanket would have been welcome. There was a Marathon event the morning I left and it may have been a good thing for the Motel staff to have been aware of this so that I was warned by them about morning road closures. Not sure they were aware of this event because nothing was mentioned. As it was, I chose to look up the map route myself online to discover that the Council had alerts where part of Meeanee Road leading to the airport would be closed, with detours to be set up from a side street only a few hundred meters away (Alfred Street) where the road would be closed from there right up to the State highway roundabout that leads to the airport. So, I re-set my alarm to leave earlier and that was a blessing, because the road cone people were already out and about setting up but I got through the roundabout without any holdups. I passed the big sign trucks that were already on the other side/direction of the road that comes from the airport leading to the highway roundabout - so it was people exiting the airport after passenger drop offs that were stuck behind those trucks at just after 06:00. I was lucky!

Nothing, its bad bad bad

We never stay there. We rang the booking.com to cancel our booking. We got there to check in, and the lady at the reception said that our room is not ready until the next day because someone pour a curry on the carpet, so they can't clean it until the next day. So they offer us another room but its not the same as the room we booked.we booked the room with the spa, sea view and a balcony. And they want us to stay in a stinky room with no view, no balcony and small. So I told them why they didn't notify us and let us know. And you guys waited until we arrived.We arrived there at 5pm, so they got the whole morning to clean it but they didn't. Bad communication and it looks old too. Never again look at this motel. So we ended up booking another hotel, and its so much better.

Great location very accommodating and helpful staff and owners. I highly recommend. Great value for money. A home away from home.

New mattresses would be a good idea.
