"Beautiful house but past guests have not respected it and therefore it requires maintenance. This is a top spec home an"

Needed mainence, I had to scrub pots and other items that were left really dirty, not enough kitchen utensils or pans if you do cook. Shower in main bedroom didn't work and you need to use the downstairs toilet.

"Excellent location and lovely lodge. Bedrooms big and airy."

Great open plan design for entertaining. Great to have 2 excellent gastro pubs within walking distance.

Floors not hoovered downstairs and oven could be cleaner.

"Fabulous in every way"

10.0

The house was so beautiful, nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the heating wasn’t working on the first day, the owner was over within 10minutes. Heaters were brought over as well as a wheelbarrow full of logs to keep us toasty warm. Emergency plumber called to get it fixed. They some complimentary drinks in the bar to apologies. The service was amazing by all the staff, felt really welcoming and the house was clean and well looked after. 100% can’t wait to return. Thank you so much for a fabulous girls weekend away

Just a cover over the hot tub so you can use it when it’s raining

"Great house, location, pub and hosts were very accommodating. We would 100% stay again !!!"

The size and location was fantastic and the pub/restaurant was amazing.

The shower in the main bedroom didn’t seem to work. On arrival the house was cold, however by the morning once the heating kicked in it was lovely and toasty.

The property was beautiful, with everything you need, lots of space and really comfortable beds. Inn across the road, served amazing food and staff were excellent, wish we were staying longer.

"Ideal location and lovely cottage. Could be made perfect with a few minor tweaks !"

8.0

Airy rooms and comfortable beds. Beautiful fireplace and lovely kitchen .

Kitchen could have been better equipped eg not enough mugs and knives were not sharp so difficult when cooking. Lacked the little touches that we have come to expect of self catering cottages eg fresh milk and bread / cookies for arrival. The master bedroom would benefit from using the space for an en suite. With a jack and Jill en-suite for the other two bedrooms leaves the occupant of the master suite having to go downstairs to use toilet facilities. Shower was leaking and dripping through ceiling - reported this

"Very very disappointing for what was a surprise birthday stay"

5.0

The kitchen and oak beams within the property were lovely

It wasn’t clean, slats missing from the bathroom blind that faced the road, the dishwasher was full upon arrival, the fireplace was filthy and had not been cleaned out and what felt like sand was in the main bedroom

"A gorgeous, warm, comfortable family retreat."

10.0

We fell in love with Oak Lodge the minute we arrived. It was a perfect home from home but also a great base from which to explore the four waterfalls. The pub/restaurant next door was second to none. We will not forget our meal last night for a very long time. The icing on the cake was the beautiful zoo. Absolutely charming and all of the animals so happy, well cared for and in great condition. Very highly recommended as a family getaway.
