Villa Il Castello in Ortignano Raggiolo

Novella is een perfecte gastvrouw. Het huis en de tuin zijn zeer ruim. Het zwembad schoon en groot genoeg. Heel bijzonder om in zo'n historisch castello te verblijven! Echt een unieke ervaring! De uitzichten rondom zijn magnifiek. De pelletkachel kon het hele huis goed verwarmen zodat ook de avonden binnen (we waren er in mei) behaaglijk waren. De kookcursus, door Novella zelf gegeven, was geweldig! Een echte aanrader.

De bedden waren wat aan de harde kant, maar niet onoverkomelijk.

This is a truly atmospheric and charming place to stay. The host was incredibly nice, welcoming, and very easy to communicate with. We absolutely loved the outdoor area the backyard is fantastic, complete with a lovely swimming pool and a cozy gazebo perfect for relaxing. The property is also exceptionally well-equipped. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances, including a great coffee machine, and the overall furnishings made it feel like a real home away from home.

The only minor downside is that it can get quite cold inside during the night.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The house is spacious, beautiful, and fully equipped with all possible facilities. The garden with its view and the stunning pool were a highlight, and we truly appreciated that someone came several times to clean the pool. The host was extremely kind and welcoming. One evening she prepared us a delicious dinner, with generous portions and excellent value for money. The accommodation itself is amazing, a charming old house, very well preserved, with beautiful vintage furniture and decor. Our whole group was deeply impressed, and we can’t wait to return. Six days felt far too short, as we would have loved to enjoy the place even more.

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit bei Novella. Unser Highlight war der Pasta-Kochkurs bei ihr - lehrreich, lecker, lustig. Tolle Ausgangslage für Ausflüge nach Arrezzo, Poppi oder auch Florenz. Letzteres hat jedoch knapp 2h Anfahrt mit dem Auto und war auch Mitte Oktober noch heillos überlaufen. Die P&R-Parkplätze waren bereits um 9h morgens dicht.

Es war relativ kühl in den Räumen.

It's a beautiful place to relaxt with your friends or family. The villa is completely equipped, clean, and comfortable. A very friendly host with the option for a live cooking class or dinner/lunch service as an option. It's a lovely place to stay!

There is no toilet around the swimming pool, and an outside kitchen would be a nice addition.

A wonderful house in the middle of nature. The location is a bit remote, but allowed us a quiet and pleasant vacation during the peak of the tourist season. The view is breathtaking. The pool was perfect. We took a cooking class from the owner of the place which was very enjoyable and delicious.

Het zwembad met het prachtige uitzicht. Je verblijft hier in alle rust. Novella de host is heel vriendelijk. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien.

De doucheruimte was vrij krap. En achteraf gezien hadden wij graag wat centraler gezeten.

Our stay at Villa Il Castello was perfect in every way and I would highly recommend this Villa to everyone who wants to stay in Tuscany. From this Villa we were easily able to do day trips to Arezzo, Florence and Rome, but also spend days at the Villa enjoying the pool and the property or several villages nearby. There is a Eurospin grocery only 15 minutes away where you can get anything you want for meals, and gelato in Poppi just 15-20 minutes away. Novella was so hospitable, helpful, and responsive. You will not regret booking this Villa!

Lovely pool, cleaned daily. The accommodation was huge. We were a couple and our mum's but it is well set out for families. It is in the hills with beautiful views. Novella was super friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the meal she prepared for us (at a cost)
