Host Stay The Hideaway

Good sized house, rooms a great size, except lounge but rarely in there. Decor was really cute and fitting for the location and history of the street, nice furniture in bedrooms. Location to everything was good but hilly, so not suitable for some of our party, so you'd need to bear that in mind for anyone with mobility issues. Plenty of cooking equipment for self-catering, although no freezer. The balconies were a lovely feature but unfortunately the weather didn't accommodate for their use. Check out the door in the single bedroom- it's probably for a fire escape but a good surprise. Beds comfy enough, just some lights not working in one bedroom. Linen looked clean and plenty of pillows/cushions.

The clock in the top floor bedroom! The tick-tock was loud and irritating. No blackout blinds on attic skylight windows and the bed is directly underneath them, I didn't sleep well at all unfortunately. The very late check-in time with an unfair additional fee of an extra £30 if we wanted earlier, why not allow a standard 2/3pm check-in? We had food to keep chilled, so 4pm was a bit mean. There was no flexibility for a later checkout either. The street to unload items - man, that is tight and not a host issue but just be aware of limited space to manoeuvre. The clock needs to go though or be lower so batteries could be removed.

Perfect location. Lots of room. Good self catering facilities.

Several missing or broken light bulbs. Lack of black out window coverings. Dead plants and outside spaces needed cleaning up.

The pictures on the venue look great but the property is tired and in need of decoration etc. flaking paint. Dirty windows and balcony at top of house was so awful we did not want to sit outside and use it. Very disappointing. Paying something that standards should have been much higher.

The views were amazing, location was perfect and kitchen was really well equipped. A lovely place for a family get together. Very homely with plenty of books if you didn't bring any.

The carpet it is a bit hard for socks so bring slippers.

I loved the views and how homely the house feels, The fact you have everything and more as you do at home, Radios,books, pots,Pans,tvs etc everything you need is there and the fact it's family freindly is a bonus! My little boy didn't want to leave and asked if we could live here , The walk to scarborough castle was literally 7mins away from the house which is a beautiful view from up there, Amazing experience, my second time here and i Will definitely be back again. We love it.

Issue with parking as there is hardly any spaces outside the house and hard to get a space anywhere else close by.

Great location, close to all of the amenities and attractions but far enough away from the noise. Fantastic views from the front rooms. All the equipment provided for a great stay. The owners were fantastic and communicated well. Would happily stay here again. Thank you for a great stay x

Spectacular sea views! Loved this accommodation,nestled beneath the castle , set over 3 floors and having 2 balconies, this property exceeded our expectations! Huge space inside and everything we needed plus more.

Having to come home!

Beautiful house, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Ideal location for visiting both bays and very easy to find.
