GBCosy cottage, peaceful, quiet and comfortable. Dave was very lovely, giving us lots of info on the area and where to visit.
The main road at the front is used by boy racers on certain evening hitting speeds of 100mph on blind hill crest and bend. Its incredibly dangerous. For the price paid a small welcome basket would have been a nice touch instead of a few sachets of milk, coffee and sugar. Also mentioned before the floor boards upstairs are incredibly loud.

The heating was off when we arrived. It's quite dark and small but good for a small family.
GBMy short stay at Derwent was absolute bliss 😌. We were in desperate need of a break from the fast-paced city life, and Derwent delivered in spades. The quietness was like a warm hug – it was like the world had slowed down and everyone had time to breathe. What really struck me was how friendly and helpful everyone was. People would stop and say hello, genuinely interested in a chat. It was lovely to see a community where neighbours know each other 🤗. The peace was almost palpable. We spent our days wandering through the stunning countryside, taking in the views, and just soaking up the calm atmosphere. And the best part? It was a haven for outdoor enthusiasts – perfect for walking, fishing, and bike riding. We took full advantage of the scenic trails and even managed to squeeze in a few peaceful hours by the water. The staff were on the ball too – super responsive and sorted out any queries we had within minutes. Made the whole stay totally hassle-free 🙌. It was exactly what we needed – a chance to recharge and refocus. If you're thinking of escaping the city, Derwent's the place to be. Can't wait to go back!

GBExcellent location. Very quiet with no traffic. Perfect spot for exploring. You will need a car as there is no shop or any other facility within a reasonable distance - not an issue for us but could be very limiting
Didn't feel welcoming. Given the distance from the nearest shop I would have expected some more in a welcome pack e.g. bread, jam, cake, fresh milk (not the UHT sachets provided). Master bedroom was very cramped, hardly room to walk around the standard double provided. The master bed was very uncomfortable, we had to move into the second bedroom to sleep
