Black Villas Canggu Beach by OXO

Our party of 12 booked 2 of the OXO Black Villas. We were allocated 2 villas side by side, which worked well for our party. First, even though the 12 (8 adults and 2 children) of us arrived on 4 different flights, the staff were able to coordinate the check-in and key handovers perfectly. Even though we were not around when some of our other friends arrived, they took the key from us and handed it over to them when they arrived. They were extremely contactable and accessible via WhatsApp. One night, one of our party fell ill and really needed some fruits. It was at like 9 pm in the evening and we texted the staff for help and shortly after, they provided us with the fruits we requested (someone had gone out to get them for us). We liked that the rooms were big and spacious. The living and dining space could accommodate all 12 of us for our meals / board game sessions (including some running around). The pool was also beautiful with nice big body sized bean bags to relax. We moved around most places on grab. We also ordered food from grab in the mornings for breakfast which worked out great because we had some people that fancied a local mi goreng and others wanting a pastry. So this solution worked out well for our party. Some mornings, we also went to nearby breakfast areas either on foot for via a 5 min grab car ride. One evening, we also arranged with the villas an in villa BBQ- they gave us some menu options but we basically designed what we eventually had, they were very flexible. So we had this on the last night of our stay. The other thing which the hotel arranged for us was in villa foot reflexology and massage (I hear that they could do mani and pedis too). We chose these villas because of its close proximity to both the Atlas and Finns Beach Club (and Recreation Club). But there are also a lot of charming restaurants and shopping in this area. We really enjoyed our stay and have already made a booking for a subsequent stay.

1. I think it would have helped if the villa provided more than 1 set of keys to the occupants of the villa. At least 2 if they wanted to control the number of keys. But 1 just made it difficult with people moving in and out at different times. (that said, they did agree to hold on to the keys and pass it to whoever needed it, but it's just the hassle). 2. In some of the toilets, the flow of the shower was greater than the speed of drainage. The shower stalls only had a shallow drop vs. the main bathroom floor. This means that the water would overflow in the showers. 3. While not a big problem, the big glass sliding doors facing the swimming pool are bright and nice, but for the villa to be more family friendly, I would suggest having some tasteful stickers so that people know that the glass sliding doors were closed. One of the children in our party walked into the glass door. Luckily nothing much happened, but it could have been much worse if children were running around.

My friends and I loved how serene and cool the Black Villas were. It is decorated beautifully and is very clean.

We were very disappointed that for a villa which sleeps 8 people there was only 1 large beanbag for seating next to the pool. I think that you need to invest in a number of sun loungers to fully utilise the outdoor space. We used the chairs from inside but they were not very comfortable. A neighbouring villa was so loud that it kept us awake for 2 nights of our stay until around 4.00am. One of the nights my friend had to move rooms to share with another guest so she could get some sleep.

Before arrival we were in contact with Oxo. They made sure everything was as requested. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Natalie with a welcome drink and she showed us around in the house. The daily cleaning was really nice and oxo responded very quick to every question. The house was spacious and the design was beautiful. It was a 10 minutes walk to get to Finns or shops. We spend 8 days here and definitely enjoyed it.

Minor thing: There were no facilities to let your clothes/swimwear dry.

OXO Service Team is excellent... very professional and extremely helpful for all kind of questions and services. Location is great as well....stylish looking Villa, quiet and immaculately clean.

The villa itself is incomplete in regards of furnishing and most furniture are uncomfortable. Bedrooms are equipped with a bed (no mattress protectors) but not even a chair, no coffee table, not even 2 bed side tables. Sofa in the living room is uncomfortable, the TV room feels like sitting in a bunker, pool only has 2 kind of beanbags. Kitchen is well equipped

Accomodation and staff were superb. Definitely would stay here again.

Lack of electricity plugs next to the bed. Shower could have a better pressure.
