Flores Villa by Betterplace

While I can’t recommend this property in particular, I would like to highly recommend the Betterplace team. The property has maintenance issues, we felt the images do not accurately represent the property and is in need of repairs. We only stayed one (pretty uncomfortable) night of our planned 6 nights before raising our concerns with the Betterplace team who were actually fantastic to deal with and swiftly rearranged new (fantastic) accommodation for us. There are water damage and mould issues, broken plumbing fixtures and lots of peeling paint to name a few. Kitchen in is in poor condition overall and we felt we couldn’t sit on the lounge due to its smell and stains. There were no cushions for the outdoor lounges. The balcony is in horrible condition. I do feel the general housekeeping was to the best standard they could, considering the overall condition of the property the housekeepers are working with. The ground floor bedroom in particular is very damp and musty smelling. Bathrooms had the decorative pebbles removed so dangerous deep crevices remain. I do feel once general maintenance is carried out and water leak issues rectified it could once again be a great property. Thanks to the Betterplace team for being great to work with and for relocating us and hopefully the owners will do some maintenance here for future guests.

Great location, near shops, cafes and bars. Spacious villa, big beds, big common area, A/C, nice pool. February, our main contact person (and the other staff) who was there daily was amazing - super responsive, extremely friendly and polite and so very helpful. There were 8 of us and the villa had plenty of space for all.

Bedrooms covered in mould, especially the bedroom downstairs. Drains were clogged, causing our bedroom to be flooded when showering (rectified very quickly when we informed the hosts, but could have been cleaned properly before we got there). Get ready to light a lot of mozzie coils - lots of mozzies!! Main issue is the building site directly behind the villa - workers in action from early morning until early evening, daily. no ones fault, but definitely an inconvenience. Side note, we arranged an airport pick up with the Concierge. Driver nowhere to be found, waiting around for about 2 hours, getting told to call number after number in the middle of the night with 2 kids wasn't fun. We were offered a return transfer to the airport as compensation, but we really had to work hard to get this from the Concierge - could have been handled much more efficiently and quicker.
