The locations was naturally beautiful, although the water was not easily swimmable. Very strong current and surf.

My wife, baby, and I decided we wanted to stay somewhere away from town where we could just enjoy the ocean and the sun so we booked a few nights at the Azana Essance. From the moment we arrived we had issues. When we first pulled up, it took us about 30 minutes to find any staff member that was able to check us in. We got to our room, unloaded, and went down to eat dinner where we were told we had a choice between chicken and fish on rice. One of the appeals of this place was the menu we had seen online but for the remainder of our trip we only had chicken, fish, rice, and eggs for options at every meal. We got back to the room and had several problems: the shower did not work, there were ants all over, and the AC did not blow very cool. We decided to wait until the next morning to inform the staff. The staff were kind and tried to be helpful but were unable to fix several of the problems. After the entire next day of trying to fix the shower the room ended up having no running water at all so they decided to move us to a downgraded room where the AC might work better but there was no hot water. At this point the staff who were trying their best informed us that the resort was technically closed for repairs. I asked why we were still able to book during this time and they did not know. I have since tried several times to reach out to the owners about getting a refund as we should not have been charged full price when the resort was not even technically open and we could not be served but the owners have not responded to my requests. I have been patient for several months but wanted to now warn others about my experience. I would not trust that they will have what they say they have at the resort.

Kazman is probably the best host in the world. He's erudite, well mannered and really wants you to have a good time. The resort has a wonderfull setting: in the middle of one of the two nature reserves of lombok. Hiking around the resort gives you unforgetable views over the natural beauty (sea, mountains, forest) birds, butterflies and monkeys.

Some things needed a bit of maintenance, but we spent the last days before a 3 month closure for maintenance. I'm sure when they open up, everything will be in super shape

One of the best things was the location. It was super chill and extremely beautiful. The fact that the beach was right in front of our doorstep was special. The staff always wanted to make us as comfortable as possible and they were super attentive.

I’ve been travelling for months. I was looking for a place to have a rest. This was the best to stay at! I booked six nights, but stayed for two weeks. Far from the city but close enough to be comfortable. Beautiful beach, the bungallow is comfy, cozy, beautiful and clean. Crew is ready to fulfill every wish, very friendly bunch of people. We even had a grill together on the beach. I will never forget the time I’ve spent here! Thank you for everything!!

The drive to the hotel is a nightmare. So isolated no-one wants to drive there and they rob you when they do. 2.2klm of dirt rough shitty road and death hill. Also when you schedule a ride with the hotel recommended driver, they turn up 2 1/2 hours late. The breakfast is a joke and when you order off the menu, a lot of times they are “ran out” or the cook is on a day off. WTAF..

The staff was informed of our visit and arrival time . .We had booked the driver Wirdana , he picked us up at our previous location , we even received an upgrade to a beautifull beach bungalow ,

Everything was perfect during our stay in AZANA ,, No complains !!

In such a isolated place you expect a better restaurant . It really could have been a paradise but the facilities are not enough for that. The furniture in the country of beautiful furniture is ugly, there is no green enough. It’s like you landed in the 70’.

The staff are amazing, always ready to help. The air conditioning is great. Swimming pool is nice and view to the ocean. The food at the restaurant in the evening was great.

The road to get there is horrible if you don't have a 4x4. The breakfast was ok, not too much option. It was a good experience, but I would not go back again.
