The room was modern, spotlessly clean, great shower, good shutters for darkness, and tv with Netflix. Fantastic superb breakfast and lovely helpful staff.

Unfortunately sleep is important, especially on work events that require early starts. Room was above the bar and doors so loud music, loud alcohol raised voices, smoking outside the doors under the window so loud people inside and out, doors slamming shut when the last person finally left at 12.47am. I thought the noise would end at 11.00 on a week night so did not mind too much in early evening, just turned the tv up to try drown out the music below, but by 12.45 am it had worn thin. Unless you are prepared to stay awake until 1am, its not a good room for getting any sleep. My colleagues in rooms not above the bar slept well, but really the room above the bar and doors should not be let out to guests (unless they are helping to prop up the bar too).

The building is on a busy street with limited parking. The rooms are clean and adequate, separate entrance from the pub but the lock on the outside door broken. Rooms are clean and have tea/coffee and biscuits. No bathroom toiletries but plenty towels. No wardrobe just a rack to hang coats on. I would love to have been able to give this hotel a higher rating as the beds were comfy but the NOISE at night... ear plugs were provided but I always bring my own which usually serve me well. All night and peaking at 2am the cacophony from the downstairs pub, street noise and boom boom of cars on the road conquers any noise I have ever been subjected to in any part of the world that I have travelled including international major cities and hostels. If you want a good nights sleep this is definitely not the place.

The Dock was fabulous and exactly what I was hoping to achieve for a 1 night stay between my work days. I was gutted as I’d heard so much about the breakfast but I ended up being in such a rush so didn’t have time to have a full English but the lush lady behind the kitchen counter asked me if I wanted a sandwich making to take away. She made me a huge and the best tasting bacon sarnie with a latte to take away (proper fresh brewed coffee) she saved my bacon literally haha. As I didn’t eat again that day until 6pm! I stayed in a single room. My bed was so comfy, whole room and bathroom were immaculate and I had a full range of hot drinks to make and a biscuit selection which was welcome after a busy day. Lady who checked me in was lovely. I had to walk into the pub to check in as I checked in quite late in the night but I was expecting that as I knew what I had booked. I didn’t get to explore Amble but from what I even saw in the dark, the hotel is in a fab location. I even had a little view of what I assume was Amble Dock. Can’t fault the hotel or staff or food at all! 10/10 will definitely stay again
