Converted Railway Cottage

Warm and cozy cottage with a beautiful history. We stay here every time we are in the area and it's always stunning. We lost the key and messaged the host. (It was nearly 1 am!) Less than 10 minutes later he arrived with a new key and some coffee pods! They really do care about the place and their guests. 10/10.

Attractive apartment in an historic row of cottages. Very well equipped. Easy to reach Swindon railway station and town centre amenities. Attentive and helpful host.

As others have said, this property was very clean and well equipped.

Unfortunately, not for me in the winter. What isn’t made clear is that there isn’t any central heating, just plug in electric heaters (and the one in the bedroom switches itself off after a few minutes), so the place was very cold and uninviting when I arrived late and soaking wet on a December evening. I was instructed that shoes beyond the second step weren’t allowed, but to stand on the cold kitchen floor in just my socks was like standing on ice. There was no heating at all in the kitchen so no way of changing this, and no curtains, either, even though it looks directly onto other properties? Not exactly inviting. The WiFi didn’t work and it seemed as though this was to be expected given the card of instructions giving me a DIY fix, which I tried twice to no avail. ‘Any problems, please contact us’ was an impossibility given that I had no idea how to do so, and no WiFi… All in all, not a good experience. I slept fully clothed and then left as early as possible to warm up in Costa and use their WiFi before work.

Loved the cottage,spotless and clean everything u need there.Close to everything.Quiet location.Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Location was convenient

I’m sorry but there’s quite a lot. It was freezing! The heater in the living room is so small it did nothing. To keep heat in I had every door shut. However, the only fire alarm is in the landing. So if during my sleep the bedroom heater had caught fire well 🤷‍♀️ Ive slept terribly for two nights not helpful for work.The heater in the bedroom is on a timer, fine it’s economic, but waking up several times in the night shivering was not okay. The duvet is a summer duvet and there’s a thin flannel blanket. Even when on the sofa, I was under both. Petty issues: the water tank is so loud, didn’t have a shower as too cold in the flat. Bathroom needs some general maintenance - duct tape around bath? No wine glasses but like 20 mugs?! The milk/marmalade etc offered was all several months out of date, no caffeine offered but three types of decaf tea?

Nice alternative to staying in hotel. Having the convenience of a sitting room and a full kitchen at your disposal. Shower pressure was excellent. Hosts were really helpful and responsive.

The cottage was super close to the places we were visiting while using this as our base. The parking space was super useful too. Hosts were quick to respond when messaged and couldn't have been more helpful :)

Easy access to both train station and town centre. Ample space in accommodation. Everything you need for a single night stay or longer.

Mattress was a bit lumpy
