Tacoma Homestay

I did not realize this was an Airbnb until I got to the house and I couldn’t get in. I tried and I tried and I tried to contact the Host with no luck after having to go to the bathroom badly. I left, got in touch with Hotels.com they of course could not get a hold of the host, so two hours later I finally ended in a hotel down the road with the help of Hotels.com. The host finally got back to me (AFTER i found another place to stay) and she or he told me I was being rude because of my frustration of being stuck outside with ZERO response for hours. I recommend you not not waste your time or money unless you want to be stranded outside a unkept yard waiting on a Host that never gets back in touch with you because their phone is “out of service while at work” and then you finally have to leave, You’re told your the rude one. Full disclosure I probably was rude after sitting there for two hours and not getting a response

They try their best in cleaning but need to improve the room I stay still have smell Cigarettes and I’m not smoker need someone to entertain the renters when they arrive I received my key code in the text and didn’t work when I reach there

My husband and I stayed on a quick one night stop on our way to the Oregon coast. Owner was kind, but I had to reach out to her to specifically get the code for the door. Upon getting there, the property is a little unkempt, and the stairway getting to the back door was a little tricky. There were other guests (or maybe owners?) in the living room watching television when we arrived and we immediately went to our room. The room looked clean and well kept, but our door wouldn't stay closed and locked, and we had to place a chair next to it so it wouldn't pop open. There was a window AC unit, but no matter what we tried it would only blow room temperature air. The shared bathroom was okay, although the toilet is very very low to the floor. We worried about the safety of our car out on the street, and looking back, the advertisements didn't represent the true nature of the site. We left a night early as we didn't like the air quality or sharing the 1 bathroom.

The homeowners are absolute beauties! Super hospitable and kind. The homestay is clean, smells good, and is really nicely decorated. My room was clean and tidy, the sheets smelt like fresh laundry and the bed was super comfy. Good walking distance from a lot of cute shops, pub/restaurants, and fast food. I came for a show in seattle and there was adequate transit to get to and from the show. I would highly recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay in Tacoma. For the price and the experience its definitely worth it!

On the road, after a 14 hour day, I stayed at the Tacoma Homestay. Clean, comfortable, and most importantly, peace and quiet. I was not disturbed by other guests nor the sound of traffic. Got a great night's sleep and left early. Did not take advantage of breakfast.

I demand a refund. Hotels.com should not have Tacoma Homestay on your app because many issues are commonplace. I didn’t bring it to the attention of management because they were the problem. I’m attaching pictures to substantiate my claims. 1. The room’s door lock has been tampered with during the course of our stay, the handle went from hard to use to completely inoperable… suggesting somebody tampered with it while we were staying there. 2. The a/c unit was attached to the window frame with duct taped to the window frame. This allowed for zero security, even if the door handle work properly.. 3. management held my booking hostage for a $15 cleaning fee that was mentioned nowhere in the policies portion of the website. You’ll see a picture of the receipt from Hotels.com, which included a $15 facility fee and then a text message between myself and management telling me if I didn’t pay the extra money I couldn’t finish checking in. 4. On the nightstand next to the bed was an alarm clock. To my horror this alarm clock had a small camera built in. I looked in the cameras settings, and the camera is constantly recording. I fully believe this was intentional because these devices have a shutter that closes, and this shutter was open and pointed directly at the bed. Because I think they intentionally did it I was uncomfortable or approaching staff.

Room was roomy and comfortable. The bed was great! Bathroom was shared, but clean. The only drawback was the smell of cigarette smoke, specially in the bathroom.

Perfect for a quick stay. It was quiet and affordable.
