Fabulous big room, (Room 4) very comfortable bed, plus a sofa bed as well, large bathroom, friendly and helpful staff and an amazing breakfast, definitely will be back again when visiting friends in Helensburgh.

The bread at breakfast was awful . Artisan but very dry and a tough eat .

Hallways are very dark and stairs not suitable for the elderly.

It was clean and nicely decorated. We came very late and the steer was very empty which was not very nice but probably is common for a small town. The breakfast was great. And overall stay was nice as well:)

good size rooms, well done out, good selection of teas/coffees

Service was slow- was standing around waiting to be checked in for a good few minutes. Service at breakfast was slow- took 30 minutes to get our food, although the food was good.

The Sugar Boat is an absolute gem of a place right in the ❤️ heart of Helensborough.we stayed with our little dog Laly in room four,a lovely modern quirky suite,beautifully decorated,and a joy to spend time in.We dined downstairs in the restaurant.For both our evening meal and Breakfast,and everything was delicious,especially the homemade Gnocchi.Breakfast was wonderful.Thanks to all the staff .We would highly recommend this place
