The Pearl Inn Bed and Breakfast

This Bed and Breakfast was excellent, very clean, attention to small details, warm, cozy, loved the old world charm of the home, the host made us feel at home, breakfast was excellent. Will be coming back again.

This is the third time this year we stayed at this beautiful home. The owners (Ken & Candi) are so hospitable, we now consider them friends. They always make us feel welcome and accommodate our every need. Their home is beautifully decorated & very well-kept. The breakfasts are incredible- gourmet and delicious! It is located directly across from the Ilwaco pier, which offers fishing trips & a handful of restaurants. The location is ideal for exploring up & down the coast, hiking, clam-digging, fishing, etc. We would highly recommend a visit to darling Ilwaco and Pearl Inn.

Let me start by saying that our stay at the Pearl Inn was wonderful. The owners were attentive, delightful to talk to, and kept the place clean and organized. We stayed at the Pearl Inn for the week of the Kite Festival in August 2024, and we were very glad to have chosen this place to stay in. The close proximity to the town of Long Beach allowed us to have a short commute on the days that were good to fly kites on, whereas on the overcast, rainy days, it offered easy access to head into Astoria or hike over by Cape Disappointment. From reading their binder about the history of the Pearl Inn, I learned that the house was built in 1912. The owners fixed the place up quite well, especially when considering the age of the house, while still retaining quite a bit of the old charm. That being said, there are some things that do come with an old house: The walls are thin, the floors and stair boards do creak, and the rooms are typically a bit smaller than what you’ve probably come to expect in newer buildings. However, and as I mentioned previously, these are side effects of being an old house, and in my opinion, adds to the charm and character of staying in a historical building. In summary, the Pearl Inn delivered us everything and more when it came to our week-long stay in Ilwaco. From the cozy bedroom to the incredible morning breakfasts, and much more in between, our stay at the Pearl Inn was very memorable. We would highly recommend this place to anyone that appreciates the charm of an older building, and we plan to come back again. If you’re reading this Ken and Candi, which I’m sure you will be, we both thank you very much for our incredible stay at the Pearl Inn. We’ll see you again.

Our only critique was that, as side sleepers, the bed was quite firm in the Columbia room. For those that don't sleep on their side, this wouldn't be an issue.

A lovely home with very friendly/helpful owners. Very nice room (the Chinook room) with fireplace and even a sauna. Breakfast was very good, too. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful house and property. Everyone was so welcoming and warm. The rooms were just wonderful. We enjoyed the history of the house and the care the owners have given it to make it welcoming and comfortable. Will definitely be back! Loved that they had a convenient parking lot, we could easily walk to the Farmers market, marina, and shopping/restaurants.

Clean. Nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Good conditions for sleeping—dark, cool, comfortable, quiet. Game room, treats, doors unlock with codes. Written instructions. Good location.

Breakfast was not great. Egg dish seemed overcooked. Couldn’t really eat it. Hash browns not good. Bacon ok.

We stayed at Pearl Inn Bed and Breakfast, the Harbor Room. It is up the stairs and on your left. Ken and Candi are great hosts. They treated us with the utmost respect as if we were family staying in their own home. I can tell they are very proud of their property. And it shows, because the property is beautiful. The rooms are small, fit for 2 people. They are all top quality bed mattresses (super comfy), pillows, sheets. New remodel bathroom. Single person shower. But the whole “house” is open to wander and relax in any shared room such as a dining area, lounge area with some books and many comfy chairs and couches, balcony and covered patio on the main floor. They also have a hidden gem in the basement called the Ilwaco Underground. It is a nicely laid out game room and lounge. Including a pool table, tv (there is no tv in the rooms), darts, ring toss, a radio, an arcade hunting game, poker table, many card and dice games and corn hole. The Ilwaco Underground is a dream for anyone wanting a hang out place in their home (or getaway from home)! I would definitely recommend a stay here for sure. It is located right in Ilwaco by the boat marina. It’s conveniently located just a few (5-10) minutes away from Longbeach. Thanks again for your hospitality Ken and Candi. P.S.
