The owner of this place has done an amazing job of restoring this beautiful home and creating a comfortable bed and breakfast. The host was there for all our needs and served up a wonderful breakfast shared with the other guests. The building is located in a business park, which is a bit odd but not an issue for our stay. Very conveniently located to downtown Menomonie. The place is older and, while very well-updated, has some of the features you would expect. The tub in our room was original and a bit of a challenge to get in and out of. That suits me fine but be aware. If you are someone who appreciates the effort it takes to strip decades of paint from old doors to restore them to their original glory, and enjoy a welcoming B&B environment to admire those doors, this place is for you.

Oaklawn Inn is a beautiful, historic house. It has been beautifully renovated and restored. We loved how quiet the house was and how charming and cozy our room was. A beautiful new bathroom was a nice feature too. We were really pleased with the freshly baked breakfast we were served, expecting the more common "continental breakfast" we've so often had a B&Bs. Our host was friendly, helpful and shared some of the fascinating history of the house and some of the furnishings. We really hope to return and enjoy another of the beautifully appointed room in the future.
