The staff were very nice and accommodating. Housekeeping came promptly everyday and the chef was very attending - the fresh juices were very tasty.

Remote area so takes a while to get to other parts of the island. Activities prices were more expensive than online. Swimming pool in rooms are shallow so can’t swim in it. Not a lot of amenities to keep occupied.

A superb hotel, everything was perfect 🤩 The room and bathroom are huge, comfortable, and well-equipped. You will have everything you need (bathroom amenities, separate bath and pool towels, bathrobes, a hair dryer, etc.). The hotel’s buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was incredible and of excellent quality as well (plenty of choices, with dishes and desserts changing daily). A big thank you to Kailash and his team, who were lovely and took great care of us from start to finish. The service was truly impeccable 👌 The private pool at the back of the villa facing the sea is great for sunbathing in peace 🏖️ The beach facilities are also top-notch, and access is reserved exclusively for hotel guests (security staff keep a close watch day and night and don’t let touts bother you or other tourists get near the facilities).

Rien à dire, l’hôtel est tout simplement incroyable ! La chambre est magnifique, avec piscine privée. Il propose tellement de services que nous avons été agréablement surpris, et même déçus de n’avoir pu y séjourner que deux nuits. Service de nettoyage de vêtements gratuit, jeux à disposition dans la chambre (cartes, raquettes…), livres pour les amateurs de lecture : tout est pensé pour le confort. La chambre était parfaite ! Le restaurant à volonté est excellent, avec un personnel très gentil, et l’accès direct à la plage rend le séjour encore plus parfait.

We absolutely loved our stay at Safaya Luxury Villas and it was the perfect way to end our Zanzibar trip. Our private bungalow with plunge pool was fantastic and offered plenty of privacy. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail throughout. We also appreciated the thoughtful extras including complimentary laundry, quality toiletries and a selection of games in the room. The food was excellent, particularly the à la carte menu, and we enjoyed the included breakfast and dinner buffets which had a good variety of options. Everything was fresh and super yummy. The staff were friendly, fun and always great to interact with. Communication via WhatsApp with reception was brilliant and responses were always quick and helpful. The location is also excellent, within easy walking distance of the main beach, bars and restaurants in Nungwi. We also loved the bunny garden, which added a unique and charming touch to the property.

The only thing worth noting is that the property does not serve alcohol. It's not a problem as guests are welcome to bring their own drinks to the restaurant, but it wasn’t something we were aware of until receiving our booking confirmation. That said, we found a local bottle shops tucked away in the local village within walking distance which was handy!

We recently stayed at Safaya Luxury Villas in Zanzibar for our honeymoon. I want to start by saying that the hotel itself is beautiful. The villas are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, the facilities are excellent, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. It is clear that a lot of effort has gone into creating a comfortable and luxurious experience for guests. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly affected by one major issue: the beach. The lack of privacy on the beach was extremely disappointing and completely changed our experience of the resort. Throughout our stay, there were large numbers of local beach vendors and boat operators constantly approaching us. This was not an occasional interaction with one or two people—it was continuous. At times there seemed to be 20 or more individuals waiting along the beach, and every time we walked near the shoreline we were approached, often repeatedly, even after politely declining. What should have been peaceful walks along the beach with my husband became frustrating and stressful. We could not relax, enjoy the scenery, or have a private moment without being interrupted. In fact, we ended up avoiding the beach almost entirely because of how uncomfortable the experience became. What made this even more disappointing is that there was security present, yet no action was taken to discourage the constant harassment of guests. While I understand that the beach is public and the hotel cannot control everything, I do believe that a luxury resort charging premium prices should do much more to protect its guests' comfort and provide a more peaceful environment. For us, the beach was one of the main reasons for choosing Zanzibar, and it ended up being the biggest disappointment of the trip. Given the price of the resort, we simply do not feel that the experience offered good value for money.
