Attico Belvedere

Excellent appartment with the best location, if you are using public transport to the airport. Very close to everything else. Gorgeois balcony with beautifull view. The host was very helpfull and answered all the queries we had. Highly reccomend !

So incredibly close to the central train station as well as the central bus station. My accommodation, once I reached it, was perfectly clean and tidy with a bedroom, kitchenette and large bathroom and then five (5) steep steps up an even larger bedroom. Also an absolutely fabulous balcony which even in January was very enjoyable. I didn't want to leave but then again I didn't come to Palermo to sit in luxury, I had to leave to "check out the sights", even though it was so peaceful and comfy in my accommodation. The two pictures I have attached were taken from my private balcony at Attico B.

Before check-in I received an email from both the Attico B. and Booking.com that I was to check-in at Hotel 55 Aira. Hummm...say what? So I did as instructed but the very kind and entertaining clerks at Hotel 55 Aira told me I didn't have a reservation there. Which was totally correct since I had nothing to do with Hotel 55 Aira. After 10 minutes and some hand-waving and a classic excitable (albeit fun) Italian event, they realized I was to go the attic of Hotel 55 Aira and I realized I should have said Attico, Attico from the beginning. They don't call it Attico for nothing..... it really is the attic. Not a dingy old attic, instead a fabulous living area (see "What did you like?" comments of mine above). However in order to get from the lobby of Hotel 55 Aira to the Attico, I was led through a back door, then across a courtyard, then an elevator, then up to floor 2 (which apparently was part of Hotel 55 Aira), then down a hallway, then turn left, then left again, then a right, then I think another right, then a door, then a flight of stairs, then three doors and I needed to select the middle door, then another flight of stairs before reaching Attico. Various keys were needed at various stages and I would suggest, especially if you are a senior, you bring bread crumbs so you can mark your path for future reference.

Very easy to contact the host, room was cleaned & water was re-stocked every day which was very helpful. Terrace was very large and got a decent amount of sun & shade. Numerous bars/restaurants within 1 minute, and loads more about 15 mins walk away. All historic monuments were walking distance, and buses stop right outside the apartment.

The room facilities were poor, the minibar/fridge could not fit a 2L bottle in, let alone food/drink for 2 people. Alongside that, no plates, glasses, cutlery etc were provided, so had to go out for every drink/meal. It was advertised as an apartment, but was much more like a hotel room (without any hotel facilities). As a hotel room it would be absolutely fine, but only if knew that's what you'd be getting.

Very fresh and clean apartment. Seemed brand new. Nice balcony on the roof. Extremely close to the train station.

We chose this accommodation because of its immediate vicinity to the central train station and bus terminal. We only stayed one night, we needed to be close to both. The apartment totally exceeded our expectations, it was spacious, super clean and beautifully decorated. Check in is carried out by the adjacent 55 Aira hotel, but the very lovely owner showed us around the apartment. There is a mini bar stocked up with soft drinks and water included in the price as well as tea and coffee. We also had a terrace with a small table and chairs, beautiful to have a drink and relax. The historic centre of town is a 10/15 minute walk away, very handy for exploring. Like every central station in every big city in the world, you have to keep your wits about you in the immediate area around it, but we had no trouble whatsoever. We would stay here again!

This is a nice place close to the Palermo Centrale Station. Clean room, the bed was very comfortable to sleep in.

WiFi didn't work so well, but I don't know if it's something this hotel can do something about. Maybe get some basic English lesson to the cleaners. But overall I enjoyed my stay 😊
