Hotel 39 Jamaica

The hotel was comfortable after my bed was fixed. The breakfast service was slow. I would have preferred a buffet service. There was no nightly managers reception as noted. The common areas like lobby, hallways and elevator are not air-conditioned. The Front desk staff were very helpful especially Onesha. My one major disappointment was the pool was difficult to reach for my accessible daughter.

The property was close to the hip strip and was footsteps away from the free beach. The service at the front desk was good. The cable TV did not work and they quickly changed out rooms. The breakfast was authentic. Hotel was close to Pelican restaurant and Margaritaville. Will be staying here again for sure.

Breakfast was delicious! Staff was excellent. I booked because I read reviews complimenting the staff and they were spot on! I'll definitely return next year.

I like the hotel a lot for its location, cleanliness, and front desk staff was accommodating. Some of their challenges are, restaurant provides a complimentary breakfast but I fine the service to be very poor. You seat yourself, the waitress took over 10 mins to get to my table. Only after I asked when will someone wait on my table that is when she attended to me. After placing the order and waiting another 15 mins I told the waitress I am leaving to purchase my own breakfast at the restaurant nextdoor. She expedited my order which did not make me feel good as two other tables who I met there did not get their meal but because I said something I got my food pushed to the front of the line. Additionally, there is a pool, not greatly advertised. I would recommend the ocean across the street to bathe in than the pool. No elevator to the pool and there are two ways to get there, via a very steep hill or stairs. The pool was not well constructed. It is unusually sloped without stairs or rails to hold on to when entering. Can be dangerous for small children as they can easily slip into the deep based on the slope. And the floor was a bit slippery, I mention to the front desk folks that the may want to put down some sort of anti-slip coating to the pool floor. You must try the pork pit for the best jerk chicken in town. The also do jerk pork and baby back ribs. It about 6 mins walking distance from the hotel. Enjoy!

Loved the property makeover. Clean rooms. The staff was professional and check in was an easy transition. Breakfast was great. There were many options. I would stay again.

Definitely not walkable to food and shopping even though it’s fairly close the area does not seem safe.

The property needs more maintenance and cleaning staff. The few I encountered were pleasant. My tv worked the last day that I was there and I would have to request things several times before the front desk supplied what i requested. Also the vent in the bathroom fell when I was taking a shower. When customers check out the front desk attendant didn’t even ask how my stay was- which was concerning. The breakfast was great. The pool umbrellas were not installed properly.
