The location was fine. The room was homey, especially liked the plants. The kitchen was complete and not too cramped. The living room was comfortable. It was definitely pleasant to come "home" to. The location was great for touring from Reykjavik to Vik: it would make a great home base.

The restaurant downstairs was a bit noisy, throwing out their glass bottles late at night, but that was only for a brief time.

The apartment is nicely situated in a small village with all necessary things, such as supermarket, restaurant, pharmacy, and bakery, close by. It is also a good starting point for day trips by car and many attractions are reachable within a one or two hour drive (Geysir, Volcano Crater, Waterfalls, Hot Springs, etc.). Parking is free of charge and there is plenty of space, but can get a little tricky during the opening hours of the restaurant. In the latter case, there is still enough space to park on the road next to the apartment. Getting into the apartment was easily done by receiving the key from a safe, which we got the code for. The owner was very friendly and greeted us at arrival. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, and beds were quite comfortable. All windows were coverable with curtains which helped a lot with the constant light due to midnight sun. The apartment had an almost new washing maschine and tumble drier, which really helped a lot. Wifi was good at all times and the television worked fine. Compared to what you typically pay for accomodation in Iceland, the price was very reasonable.

A few things about the appartment were disappointing. The kitchen only has very limited equipment. There is only the bare minimum of what you would expect of a kitchen in a 4-person apartment - sometimes less then that. There were just 4 plates, only a few spoons, and no tea pot. Also, there were very few glasses and, annoyingly, the only knife was absolutely blunt. Additionally, the water pressure was very low during the opening hours of the restaurant. Sometimes, there was no water at all for almost a full minute. Definitely not something you enjoy when trying to take a hot shower after a cold and wet day in iceland. The owner said it was due to an earthquake that happened recently. That's absolutely fair, but definitely something that would be nice mentioning beforehand; and maybe even accompanied by a discount. What we would have also liked to know in advance is that there is constant noise audible in the apartment from the generator. And finally, something we strongly disliked: Our bathroom looked nothing like the bathroom in the pictures. There are two apartments that are rented and most likely, one of them has a renovated bathroom and the other, in this case ours, has an old bathroom. I probably would have booked the apartment regardless of having a non-renovated bathroom. However, showing a renovated bathroom and then having a unrenovated one, does not seem very honest. Let's hope the owner improves these things and maybe stocks up the kitchen equipment, fixes the water pressure, and adds some accurate pictures of the bathroom.

Clean, comfortable, and spacious apartment right in the middle of a cute town. We walked to dinner and ice cream. Hosts very helpful and kind.

This place was super nice and comfortable. There was a washer and dryer which was helpful on our trip especially after visiting the hot springs. The tv had Netflix which was a fun way to unwind after a long day
