Hotel GIN Budapest

The hotel is new and the rooms are nice, it’s in a convenient area in the middle of the central V district,close to many places of interest and cafes, etc. the only drawback is the arrangement for breakfast.

Breakfast is not served at the hotel. Guests are encouraged to go to Hotel Rum, a sister hotel which is 150 m away, apparently belonging to the same company. However, the arrangement there is confusing at best. If you go there, the restaurant is a small area on the 7th floor, with only one slow lift. The 7th floor of the Rum Hotelhas a beautiful view of Buda. This restaurant serves a fixed-price limited menu to Rum guests, and maybe Gin guests if they made a reservation, for EUR 20. Unfortunately, the area is not very big and so it can become congested. If you arrive without a reservation, good luck. I was offered the “à la carte” menu, which cost 31 euros. I mentioned the 20 EUR price, but was told “not here”. Back at the gin hotel, it’s clear that the staff are well aware of this problem but it seems the management have not seen to fix it. Given that this is an area with many cafes and restaurants, the reasoning for this complex arrangement is unclear. Hopefully, they will fix it, because it detracts from an otherwise nice hotel in this area, very close to Kalvin ter.

Location was good, room was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Clean spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable room and bed. Room equipped with Nespresso coffee machine. When the windows were closed there was no street noise.

Room air conditioning didn’t work very well. No bar in the hotel. Maid was very inconsistent replenishing room items like coffee and tea bags etc. Twice in 4 days needed to go to reception to get coffee and tea bags. No breakfast tea at all in the hotel, only Earl Grey and fruit tea. The biggest issue was on the last day the electric lock failed and so we were locked out of the room. After an hour we got back into the room once the manager used the master key. We moved to another room for our final night. Caused some stress as we were checking out the next morning and had the maid informed reception when they couldn’t get in the room to clean it, we wouldn’t have been stressing at 6pm.

Das Hotel hat eine sehr zentrale Lage. Wer sich nicht scheut die Stadt zu Fuß zu erkunden,kann dies vom Hotel aus super easy machen. Zudem hatten wir einen Late Check-in,was total problemlos und einfach ging und wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Badewanne,was ich zudem mit 5 Sterne bewerten würde :)

La posizione comoda a tutti i servizi metro e supermercati .camera pulita ,temperatura perfetta , dotata di ogni comfort, ho dormito benissimo, silenzioso e rilasso

Manca il bidet😫 suggerirei di aggiungere un piccolo doccino
