Hotel Brú countryside

We stayed one night here. Very charming and cozy in the main building. We had dinner and it was the most amazing home cooked meal. Definitely the best food we had while in Iceland. Great location to explore from and wish we could have spent more time there.

The view is spectacular, the staff is non existent, no one at the desk ever. The dinner and breakfast were odd. Decor was very eclectic, the Icelandic sheep dogs Notta and Crema were the highlight. The owner has a nice idea, but get involved, meet the guests if you serve homestyle meals, and please put out Caution Signs for the Ice, parking lot was a sheet of ice. Missed our snowmobile tour due to massive spill in the ice. Yikes!

This place is so unique and cozy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt like we were in our own home. I would highly recommend staying with them if you're close by.

Lovely hotel, clean, friendly staff.

Staff was friendly and attentive, lounge was inviting and comfortable, breakfast was varied and delicious. Room was comfortable. We were closest to the lounge (room 1) and we did hear some of the music (on a Saturday night, after an event) until nearly 11, but it was super quiet from that point on, and we had no problem getting to sleep. Would stay here again!

Spent a couple nights here. Rooms were simple, private and included everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was great to kicking of our day. Location was perfect for experiencing the Golden Circle. And although we did not see any, this seemed like a fantastic place to catch the northern lights. Away from any downtown area, the sky was clear and stars were bright.

I just checked out of Bru Country Estate and I’m sad to be leaving after just one night. This place is wonderful. The property is tucked away on a nice piece of land with beautiful views. When I approached the building to check in, I was greeted by three friendly and adorable dogs— just what I needed to bring a smile to my face after a day of driving. Upon entering the main house, I immediately felt at home. Ro checked me in and was very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance in here is so warm and cozy. The decor is eclectic, the candlelight soothing, the temperature warm (lovely coming in from the Icelandic wind), and the music relaxing. I enjoyed reading and journaling in the main common spaces with a glass of wine, occasionally tossing a toy duck for one of these cute dogs. I also took advantage of the homemade dinner buffet, which was the best meal I’d had in a long time—absolutely delicious. The mushroom soup and cod casserole were my favorites— credits to the chef! My cabin for the evening was a basic one and a bit chilly for my tastes (to be fair, I get cold easily so it was probably fine for normal people). I slept so great, though, that I slept straight through breakfast! I was still able to get coffee though, and that’s the most important part:) Staying here has been my favorite part of my trip and I’ll be staying here again if I return to Iceland. This property is set back off the main road a bit but the scenery is breathtaking. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The food was exceptional. We enjoyed our stay very much.
