The Capital Boutique Hotel

Great boutique hotel in the middle of the city of Valletta. Nice rooftop bar and plunge pool. Big rooms. Good breakfast cooked to order. Some nice little touches. Free glass of wine sweets and nice cake every day.

Clean, nice breakfast, good location. Most of the staff are polite, especially during the breakfast.

The hotel is located next to a massive construction site. The large old building next door is being renovated, and the construction did not start recently, nor will it be completed in the next 2–3 years. I had specifically booked a room with a balcony for the view. Our room was right next to the construction site. I could literally touch the construction from the balcony. This meant the balcony was completely unusable (no one wants to sit on a balcony overlooking construction works), and the windows were, of course, very dirty due to the constant construction dust. The balcony was dirty as well, which is unavoidable. The worst part was that the construction works started early in the morning and continued until around 5:00 PM, which meant it was impossible to sleep and to rest. The construction noise was clearly audible. Also, from the hotel’s rooftop bar, you can directly overlook the construction site inside. The weather was bad and no one was using the bar at the time, but in the summer it would also be absurd—neither the bar nor the advertised pool would be enjoyable. Of course, this is not the hotel’s fault, but I would never choose it again under the current circumstances. As for the hotel itself—it is marketed as luxurious. It is pleasant, but it cannot really be considered luxury, neither in terms of atmosphere nor furnishings. In my opinion, the price-quality ratio does not match. The price is far too high for what is actually offered.

No restaurant to eat in. But very close to the town with numerous bars/restaurants

Really nice, good choices. They have excellent coffee. Plenty of juices and danishes Full english breaksfast was great and the ladies enjoyed excellent omlettes!
