"Great 2 night stay."

9.0

Just returned from a 2 night stay, from walking in to the cottage and seeing the welcome basket to seeing the animals outside. We took our dog and letting him out to go play or toilet felt normal and safe. The cottage had nearly everything we needed and have already recommended it to others. The animals are very friendly and the donkeys came up to the window for 'pets'.

The cottage is really hard to find, definitely use the 'What Three Words' link they send. The whole place is lovely however, the mattresses are very soft so if that isn't for you, take note. The only thing we struggled with is that neither bathroom has somewhere to put your things while in the shower, a little shelf would be beneficial. The upstairs shower door was also sticking a little and there's nothing on the inside to open the door so you have to leave it open just enough to be able to pull it back.

"Luxury rural stay"

10.0

A stunning high quality property set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. The cottage was fitted out to a very high standard with a well-equipped kitchen, powerful showers (2 x bathrooms) and comfortable beds and sofas. The barn is located on a smallholding with a pony, goats, chickens and ducks amongst the neighbours who provided us with lots of entertainment! We booked as we were attending a wedding at nearby Mansion House and the barn was ideally located for this (3 minute drive). Martin was an excellent host and more than accommodating when we wanted to add friends and their dog to the booking at a later date - the large paddock and giant jar of dog treats were appreciated by our four-legged companion! It is only a short drive to local walks and sights including the beach, woods and country parks and Carmarthen was only a short drive away for any essentials. We especially appreciated the welcome website Martin sent us with check in details and things to do in the local area. We would highly recommend Yr Hen Beudy to anyone looking for a rural getaway, especially those with dogs.

Nothing - we were very happy with our stay. A word of advice is that signal is very poor (to be expected somewhere very rural) so screenshot the directions and check in details before setting off, although the postcode takes you to the exact location and the cottage itself has excellent wifi so we didn't encounter any issues.

"Amazing stay so cosy"

10.0

Asked them if they could put up banners for my Nans 70th. Not only did they do that they put balloons up and wrote her a card from them! So thoughtful and super welcoming

Nothing everything was amazing!

"Great place for a short stay."

8.0

Modern, stylish accommodation in a quiet rural setting. Well equipped for 4 people. Wonderful scenery and central for visiting different places. Proximity to The Farmers' Arms - great atmosphere and food!

Locks on bathroom doors would have been good.

"Perfectly suitable for our stay - comfortable and peaceful"

8.0

Well equipped and comfortable. Nice welcome basket

I had researched the location so knew what to expect - narrow country lanes with agricultural traffic. Access to the property itself is along a short track with which has very uneven surface with a couple of fierce bumps and potholes. Wasn’t an issue for us, just take it slow but low slung cars may struggle

"Let down last minute"

1.0

Not able to comment as our booking which i arranged months previously from New Zealand, was abruptly cancelled by the owners, who said they had double bookedthe cottage. This was supposed to be a special holiday with my sister, whom I hadn't seen for 2 years. We were offered alternative accommodation, but the layout and facilities did not work for two mature women with mobility issues. Very disappointed in the hosts.

The fact this booking was abruptly cancelled with 36 hours notice. Unfortunately I was unable to pick up e mails so found out the day before. The alternative accommodation did not work for us at all, but we were left with no choice but you accept it. We got a £50 refund but nothing to make up for the accommodation not worfor us. In particular it had a very steep staircase which we both struggled with. Only one double bedroom whereas the barn conversion had 2 double beds. One of us slept very badly. We were dreadfully disappointed.

"A little gem of a place"

10.0

Lovely location. The grounds are pretty and the small holding animals are comical. The property is spacious, clean, and the interior is warm and welcoming. It’s close to some great pubs with good food.

There isn’t anything I would change. It’s excellent.
