"Perfect place to relax"

10.0

For context, Dhonfanu is a very small (local) island, with few amenities. There are no restaurants, and only a few supermarkets, and what they sell is dependent on what has come to the island. With your stay at Fehi Velaa, a cook is provided who will make three meals per day. The food is very decent. (Don't expect fine-dining levels, as you will get what is available on the island). The cook will do his best to make wat you want, when you want it. If you're out diving during lunch, he will serve it afterwards. There is also a guide (sometimes the owner, sometimes someone else) who can take you on diving, snorkeling or sandbank trips. Our guide was exceptional and really went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The local inhabitants of the island are very nice. We traveled with our three year old kid, and everybody loved him and took care of him. Just taking him on walks around the island, or giving him a ride on a scooter. When we went diving, our child could play with the other children on the island, and the locals would give him water and food and look after him. There isn't a whole lot to do, so it was perfect for just relaxing and destressing. The rooms at Fehi Velaa are spacious, just like the bathrooms. There was room for a mattress on the floor for our child, and it wasn't in the way of anything. It's clean and there aren't many insects in the rooms themselves.

"A new comfortable accomodation on Dhonfanu, next to Hanifaru Bay"

8.0

The room was spatious, clean and comfortable with air-con, ceiling fan, enough lightings and plugs. The bathroom is also big and well lit. The sea is only 2 mins walk. There is not really a beach in front but a stone wall easy to climb down. The view on Kihaa Resort is beautifil and the island housereef is quite long and has a lot of healthy corals and plenty of tropical fish, turtles and blacktip sharks. Hanifaru bay is only 5 mins by speedboat and following the guidance of Hussain the owner and accredited guide, I saw plenty of mantas in 2 occasions. All meals were included as there are not many options available on Dhonfanu and Chef Janeesh always prepared something different, tasty and copious for me. I was blessed with perfect weather and really enjoyed my stay there.

There are plenty of sand flies and mosquitoes in the dining area so you need to wear long sleeves and repellent. The building is relatively new and the room had a strong fresh cement smell that wouldn't go away. The reef is really far from the shore on most part so you need to swim 200m to get there or rent a boat everytime.
