Mountain and Ocean View Lodge

The staff was very nice. The room was OK little dirty, but we were supposed to stay there for our whole trip, and they moved us to somewhere else promised us king bed with the ocean view and a balcony, and this hotel didn’t even have that.

Cool lodging. Squeaky bed. (Room 10) Good mountain views. Gates make it a challenge to get in and out. Make sure to call for help.

This is a strange place. In the course of 3 days we saw no staff except the cleaning crew. There's an empty restaurant on site. I felt like i was in a tropical version of The Shining. But the rooms are clean and nice, the views on the ocean side are unparalleled. The balcony was lovely and the pool glorious. So stay here but don't be surprised if the ghost if Scatman Crouthers appears and you slowly go crazy.

We had a beautiful stay on top of the mountain! Felt like a private hacienda with a beautiful view and private balcony. Staff was very nice and respectful. Close to yunque and shopping/eateries. Very convenient to the beach and food kiosks as well. Can’t recommend enough!

The view and how quiet this location is are the top values of the Mountain View lodge. Facility is well kept and furnitures in good conditions. The room service came only one time in 4 nights and they didn’t even make the bed or swift the floor. There is nobody to refer to if you need help with water or a towel. We communicated with texts. The big disappointment is NO BREAKFAST AT ALL. Even though it says online it can be purchased, not true. Need to drive 10/15min.

First of all, I didn’t stay. needed to cancel my trip several days out, and couldn’t ever get through to anyone on the phone. Day of check-in, I get a text with instructions to check in, and I replied “I haven’t been able to get through on the phone, but I need to cancel this reservation.” The reply was “Your reservation is non-refundable” .. ok, not “we’re so sorry that life got in the way of your plans, let us refund you.” Or not even “we do have to take a deposit for the late cancellation, but we’d love to offer you a discounted stay in the future!” Or anything else like that. Customer service satisfaction is an absolute zero. They never answered the phone despite multiple call attempts, and the abrupt “your reservation is completely non refundable” could have even been tolerable with a phone call and some sort of acknowledgment that their process isn’t perfect. At the end of the day? They got $300 USD and lost the opportunity to cultivate a relationship with a loyal client.

Beautiful location with outstanding views of moutains and ocean. Close to beaches and rainforest hiking.
