The location of The Gem is absolutely phenomenal..right in the heart of Gemmayze, within walking distance to all the bars, Saifi Village, and the vibrant nightlife. However, the experience didn’t quite match the wow factor of the photos. Having previously stayed at Lost, which felt more upscale, The Gem is simpler and less polished. It’s on the 4th floor, so carrying heavy bags to the elevator can be inconvenient. The lighting in the rooms feels harsh and clinical rather than warm and cosy, and the towels are a bit worn out. Still, considering the price and central location, it’s an A-okay stay overall.

Beautiful old Lebanese style building on a very cute and lively street. The room and bed are very comfortable, staff are very kind and breakfast in the morning was so good. I will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Beirut.
