Inability of staff to communicate at the restaurant for dinner

They arranged a shuttle for us to and from airport, although it is a walkable distance they picked us up in a luxury SUV

The room had lingering smoke odour

For us the location was superb, overlooking the airport so it was very easy to watch aircraft activity. We were allocated a superb two-room executive suite with two full bathrooms, huge amounts of space, large fitted wardrobes, electrcially operated curtains throughout, and double-aspect views over the airport and over the Mekong River. Very clean, very comfortable and unbelievably only £50 per night including breaklfast. The restaurant offered a good choice of meals for dinner, and a wide range of breakfast items.

We had the feeling that the hotel was primarily aimed at Chinese visitors, as many signs were in Chinese and the front desk staff spoke very little English. In the restaurant the wait staff were a little bit too attentive, as we felt we were constantly being watched. Not a bad thing if you needed service, but a little off-putting with some staff members just standing nearby. Finally, we had emailed the hotel requesting the hotel shuttle on arrival at the airport, the hotel response was "we will coordinate with our staff". Unfortunately no shuttle arrived so we were left to our own devices.
