The Shack Inn

Newly renovated room right on the Homer Spit.

Our room was immaculately clean and super cute. Perfect location to walk to shops or quiet walk on beach. Ginny at front desk was so sweet and helpful. This was our favorite place to stay on our 2 week Alaskan vacay.

Our first visit & felt like we were at home very nice, there is a microwave but no stove... didn't bother me as I was on vacation so not an issue.. loved staying on the water & listening to the tides come in & out, beautiful views of water & mountains out back window & front porch you can see fishing hole. Everyone was very nice and accommodating.

The owners are very nice, available for any issues.

When you get to 3815 Homer spit it is not obvious to see where the shack inn is… but you quickly ask around and find Sean and his wife. They have transformed the upper floor of their house into 2 or 3 guest rooms. We had the family room that was spacious and perfect for us 4. Two queen beds in the main room where you have a kitchenette and a dining room, 1 separate bedroom with a twin bed. Everything inside works well, the decoration is very nice, the view as well, and the possibility to access the beach for a walk until the end of the spit- very pleasant. We both enjoyed the restaurants nearby and the kitchen for home cooking (which was a nice option given the very expensive prices to dine out). The location is great, close to shops, excursions departures. It is quiet at night and yes you hear the sound of the waves. Owners were great friendly and helpful. Great stay

Not much to say. Maybe the price but everything is so expensive in alaska that overall the room does not look overpriced

Loved everything about this place. It was beautifully renovated and provided a clean and pretty place to call home in Homer

There was a lot of great views, and the sunsets were amazing. The room itself is very well decorated. Plus it’s a quick walk to the main part of the Homer Spit without being in the middle of it.
