Old Town House, Margate

Was well located, comfortable and clean. When I got to meet the host he was great and responsive.

Too many reminders and emails about my stay. I must have had 10 plus messages. Being on an active holiday I didn’t want to be hassled to pre-register, download an app etc.

Beautiful large room recommended by the hosts, extremely comfortable bed (worth the trip alone), an excellent, clean bathroom with a large rainfall shower (with water great pressure for those that discern) and all in a perfect location in the Margate Old Town. It's a really carefully curated and luxurious stay which rivals the facilities in upmarket hotels we've stayed at in central London. The owners Anne and Mark, and the cleaning staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they were always available and accommodating to our requests (Thanks again for helping with my girlfriend's birthday cake!) Look forward to returning in future.

We chose to stay on a particularly busy May bank holiday weekend so the central location means there was a bit of hustle and bustle outside at night with our street view room (there are other rooms that I believe wouldn't have this issue). It's great if you're wanting to be around the buzz as you've got great restaurants on your doorstep, but obviously in street view rooms you may not get total silence until later in the evening during peak holiday season stays / weekends. That said, they've installed excellent quality soundproofing which dampens all but the loudest music, which only very sensitive sleepers may notice, if there even is any at all! Additionally, whilst the price initially seems on the steeper side, it is a luxury stay, the value is certainly there for those who appreciate the various touches which elevate the experience.

I enjoyed my stay at Old Town House so much ! The property located very central in old town, and only minutes away from the beach. It’s cozy and quiet inside. I stayed at the room 5 upstairs, it’s cozy , very nice and 10/10 clean. I had everything I needed! Coffee machine makes great coffee. The bed is extra large and comfortable ( I usually suffer with back pain at the hotels but not this time ) . I had great support and communication from the hotel staff all time. Thank you so much , I’d definitely come back in the future!

Can’t think of any minuses.

The Old Town House is in a great location in the heart of Margate old town. The room was very nicely decorated, well equipped and with a super comfy bed. Staff were always very helpful. We ate at Saragossa on the pier which was excellent. Also enjoyed great craft beer at the nearby Lighthouse Pub (Floc) and Xylo. Breakfast at Big Shot on the front was also excellent.

Room was a little small (17 sq metres i think), but as were only staying one night and travelling light it wasn't a major issue for us. If you want more space, go for one of the larger rooms.
