The Lighthouse

As an American woman traveling alone for the first time in India, I was quite nervous about finding a place where I would feel safe and comfortable. The Lighthouse turned out to be absolutely perfect. It’s a peaceful haven just outside the chaos of Mumbai, a true sanctuary of beauty and calm. The property itself is stunning, so much so that I hardly left during my stay. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed and full of care. But what made the experience truly special was the staff. Every single person I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Whatever I needed, they helped with such sincerity and grace. I felt completely safe, seen, and cared for here. It’s rare to find a place that feels both luxurious and like home, but The Lighthouse manages to do exactly that. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon.

This property is beautifully designed, with a stunning dining area and pool. It’s situated in a peaceful location with amazing views, and the staff is very helpful, especially Clyde, who was exceptionally courteous.

When we entered the property, there was an occasional dry fish smell due to its proximity to a fishing area, though it’s not constant. Additionally, there were several dogs, and one, in particular, was quite noisy and came uncomfortably close at times.

The layout of the entire resort spread over the mountain side is a welcome example of embracing nature with wide-spanning views of the sea. The view from the restaurant is best for any meal. Mr Mitthu the Manager with Savio and an army of local staff will ensure even on call to match your budget with your ideal room type. All the Studio rooms and Attic rooms offer a decent view of the sea while room no 10 is for those who prefer privacy away from the activity. The restaurant music during day by Alloycius (Elvis) is the best of classics and Vicky is a sparkling local prompt help. Umar is the night captain ably supported very courteously by Abhijit and Rohit. The food is also great for Veg and non-veg lovers. Umar’s suggestion for dinner was spot on for us and Vicky’s lead for breakfast is worth taking. All the staff are super nice and they go out of their way to ensure you are served in the best way.

This is a mountain top property on the sea front and is mostly not friendly for Uber on the return trip. However, local rickshaws will drop you either to Maxus Mall or the Ferry Jetty to cross over to Borivali.
