Menjaga Bay

The resort in itself is a real slice of paradise. The Villas on the water are fantastic. They offer great views and the sunsets are amazing. The food and drinks are also great (although on the expensive side). 1) I personally did not realize when I booked that it was 45 minutes from Labuan bajo, 30 mins of which you have to do in a 4x4 because of the bumpy rocky road. To get out of the resort cost 700k so you’re kind of stuck there… it’s something to keep on mind if you want to do any tours. Also, the LB “tours“ don’t come to this hotel to pick you up. It’s not “included” in the Labuan bajo area. 2)The area of improvement is definitely with the front desk communication and marketing. They don’t have any excursion to propose except a few verbally (!), it’s complicated and the conditions and description keeps on changing every day. It’s really frustrating. One day I was told they could offer snorkelling the other day they couldn’t, then they suddenly remembered but they didn’t have any pictures of the boat, or any description of the excursion in itself! I have never seen that at any hotel in the world in 30 years. I finally did the tour (for 900k) which is more than twice the price in Gilli-t and Lombok but when I boarded, I saw that there was no guide (!) and that the boat was very small (2 passengers) and old and the passenger seat was broken.
