Cleaning, location, food

We loved the rooms, very clean and cozy. The owner Altaf was very helpful in taking care of any requests we had, whether it was regarding transport or food. Wonderful home cooked Kashmir food available for a nominal price. (We had Breakfasts and dinners). I initially thought this was a hostel and was a little sceptical but it is actually a hotel with 9 rooms. 8 individual rooms with attached bathrooms and 1 room is a hostel with 6 beds and common bathroom. The presidential suite (1 of the 9 rooms) is really awesome (Though it was not available for us but we could get some glimpses). Each room is tastefully designed and feels very homely and had free Wi-FI too. Definitely would recommend!

- This is in a purely residential area mainly accessible by Taxi or own vehicle (We were OK as we hired day long taxi and had dinners at the Moustache itself.)

The place itself is nice. The beds are warm & comfy, and the bathroom is clean. But, everything else just wasn’t.

The owner is questionable. On the first day when I arrived, he told me there was no other option to visit places than by taking an expensive private taxi that would cost me over $200. Turned out there were many other options. He also suggested me and 3 other guys a boat ride that was 4 times the regular price. Then on my last day, the road was closed due to election and I was stuck in another town for 1 day. When I went to pick up my stuff, he demanded that I pay for 3 nights because my bed was apparently unoccupied because I didn’t properly checked out. But when I went up to grab my stuff, the bed was indeed occupied. Also, upon returning, although I couldn’t spend an additional night because there’s no bed available, I still had to pay for it. It made no sense and felt very scammy. Thankfully it wasn’t a lot of money. But as a budget backpacker, if the owner honestly told me all my tour options (including the cheap local options), instead of claiming there’s no other option other than the most outrageously expensive ones, my experience at this property would’ve been much better. It’s also unfortunate to experience this in Kashmir since all the other locals I’ve met were extremely nice and hospitable.

The hostel is clean and pretty. The beds in the dorm were comfortable.

I got the feeling that the staff just wanted my money. Multiple times they came to me and asked for tips for no reason. Do not trust the owner. Me and a group of people went on a shikara ride and we paid 3800 instead of 770. Not cool.

The staff were really polite and cooperative. Especially the owner, he is a great guy. Facilities were too good and 10/10 for cleanliness and maintenance.

The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and the building itself was impressively designed with innovative architectural features. Overall, it made for a memorable and enjoyable stay. 5 out of 5

Seriously nothing

I don't like the location. It cost me 2000Rs from the airport by taxi. The hotel is very far from Dal lake and main market.

The staff is very friendly and homely and took very good care of us at no moment we felt as if we were staying at a friend's home. The presidential suite is the most beautiful room and everyone should try it once !! Best stay in Srinagar, must try
