Urban Van Glamping Riga

It's an unique experience :) If you like camping or caravanning than you won't be disappointed. If you've never tried caravanning this might be a first step to try it :) There are 3 vans and 1 trailer under one roof, which might sound like it's cramped, but actually there's more than enough room to move around. Bathrooms with showers in them look new-ish (there's 2 of them), so it's quite unlikely for a queue to form ;) I've also met the owner and he's a very pleasant guy. He told me quite a lot about his trips and how he got the business idea - had a really nice time taking to him. All in all: a really nice place, definitely different from regular hostels, in a nice spot (10 mins walk from the main bus station, right next to famous Science Academy building). There's also a few shops nearby, so buying groceries isn't a problem :)

It wasn't a problem for me, but if you're taller than 1.90m you might struggle to find a comfortable position on a bed. Also shower cleanliness wasn't exactly ideal (hair in the drain), but that's not something you can fault the owner with - that's only guests' fault.

I can highly recommend this unique accommodation!!! My mood wasn’t the best when I arrived due to the heat & a broken suitcase, but I was immediately happy when I entered this place, it’s a special experience I never came across somewhere else before!! Even though the bathrooms are shared, it still feels very private as two showers and two WCs (in three rooms) are more than enough for the amount of potential guests, also it was very quiet when I stayed there and I met no one else besides one other nice solo traveller. It’s the perfect combination of hotel & hostel, you don’t feel lonely but still have your privacy – perfect for people who like to be on their own but don’t mind meeting other people occasionally! :) The owner is really helpful and puts a lot of effort into the well-being of their guests, what gets represented in the lovely and very stylish interior (I did not only take photos for the review but also as inspiration for back home as I loved the details!) as well as the uncomplicated communication in case of upcoming questions/concerns. If you come to Rīga and want to upgrade your stay with an exceptional adventure (it kinda feels like that, just without the 'inconvenient' factors of camping), that’s your go-to! The location is great as well if you don’t mind walking a bit, just within a few minutes you are in the center and the market hall is even closer! :)

Really nice located and a fascintating concept. The vans are lovingly prepared. Near to central market and other spots. The owner is very helpful with food recommendations and anything else. Also dog friendly. Everything was perfect.

A towel rail would be nice.

This setup of vans and trailers inside is so unique and cool. Loved staying in a VW camper van.

The plug inside the van didn't work. Not sure why...not a big bother though in my case.

It's a fantastic idea and very comfortable, had a great nights sleep. You don't get to see the owner, but all the information is there with contact details, and they are very quick to reply with queries.

Maybe some shampoo and body wash for the showers.
