Maison Taina

Maison Taina holds a special place in our hearts and memories. The husband and wife owners are marvelous, hospitable, generous, and knowledgeable hosts. The house itself is located in a wonderfully unexpected neighborhood, and decorated with the charm and taste of France-meets-Polynesia. The views from the room balconies and the common areas take in both the mountains and the sea. Our room was also decorated with elegance and taste, and we had tons of space. The common kitchen was a wonderful place to enjoy a cocktail and sometimes meet with other guests; the delicious, fresh breakfasts are also served there. The pool and hot tub are lovely, and the overall location is great for exploring Tahiti as a whole.

In the common kitchen we struggled a bit with the microwave and oven, but the hosts were there to help us. The refrigerator and dining set are great! And, this has nothing to do with the property, but do not use Waze for driving directions to the property: for some reason Waze brings you up the (very steep, very windy, very narrow, unlit) service road. Instead use Google Maps, which will put you on the modern, well-lit, very easy to navigate "main" road.

La chambre, le petit déjeuner avec les fruits, le calme (nous on avait la chambre au fond, donc on n’avait pas de passage). Très agréable pour les premiers jours après le vol - un moment de détente. Le bus n’est pas très loin, donc super pour aller à Papeete ou l’autre côté de l’île ! Au petit déjeuner on rencontre les autres personnes, c’est vraiment chouette. Puis le soir on pouvait utiliser la cuisine, ce que nous avons fait et adoré!

Le early check-in était un peu cher, mais après le vol c’était nécessaire.

Large rooms, v comfy beds, big bathroom, with great views over the trees and across to the sea. Peaceful location. Lovely pool to enjoy at the end of the day. Great breakfasts. Well equipped and v clean Kitchen you can use to cook yourself (which we did twice). Claude and Valerie were super helpful and kind.

Given the property is quite remote from any restaurants (which we loved), it would have been nice to have a dinner option at the hotel… but this is no longer available. It’s a good walk down to the road, to get a bus….so if you want to travel, having a car is good.

Das Zimmer war sehr schön gestaltet, es war komfortabel.

Die Pool Area war sehr klein, die Polster auf den Liegemöglichkeiten waren etwas mitgenommen vom Wetter. Wir haben das Hotel vorallem wegen den Bewertungen zum Abendessen gebucht und den Bildern dazu im Booking. Das Abendessen kann seit 1 Jahr nicht mehr gebucht werden. Da es nicht einfach ist von dieser Lage aus in die Stadt oder zu Restaurants zu kommen, hätten wir das Hotel so nicht gebucht, da dieses Erlebnis und der Pool für uns der Buchungsgrund war.

L'accueil des hôtes est super avec une disponibilité et une gentillesse très appréciable ! Nous avions l'impression d'être comme à la maison. De plus, la literie proposée est de très bonne qualité.

Prachtig uitzicht, hele lieve mevrouw die alles kan vertellen over het land en ook een heerlijk ontbijt verzorgd. Ze is een topper van een gastvrouw!!

Away from downtown Papeete, it’s quiet and relaxing. Lovely decor and delicious breakfasts. Hosts are so welcoming and helpful
