Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort by Vacatia

The location was on point. So close to the beach!! Groceries and lots of dining options very close by!! The grounds were well landscaped and maintained. Lots of parking available on site. Staff were friendly. The building was a little outdated as far as decor but clean and very “beachy” feel. The room was exactly as advertised and perfect!! All appliances operational and clean. Amazing balcony/ocean view!! My only issue with the room is that the Murphy bed and fold out couch bed would be on top of each other if both utilized/pulled out. Not very user friendly if actually fully needed. We would have had to fully rearrange all of the furniture/dining table to be able to use both but luckily we didn’t rely on both. We had a very good experience and would highly recommend staying here!!

Do not book a stay here! This place is horrible. I booked the penthouse studio “deluxe” room. It is nothing like shown in the pictures. The kitchen is awkwardly located right at the entrance and it’s tiny. There is no balcony. The room looks old with very outdated and cheap furniture, a horrible paint job, a small and old tv, and a very uncomfortable bed. The bathroom is also outdated, ugly and dirty. We found a paint brush in the sink, and spots of paint on the floors. When the AC comes on the smell is awful. The elevators look scary, smell of urine with wet dirty spots on the carpeted floor. When we complained, all the front desk guy kept saying was “yes, I know” and that the manager was nowhere on site to help us. Worst experience at a “resort” I’ve ever had. I was so mad I decided to just not stay. I preferred to lose all the money I had paid for a 5-day stay, than making my girlfriend (who was also very disgusted) and I stay in that miserable place and ruin our vacation. I felt robbed, but deciding not stay there was worth every penny I lost. We ended up having to book that same night at an affordable hotel that had a room available. Despite their way cheaper rate, the difference in cleanliness, staff professionalism and comfort was immediately noticeable. I do not understand the good ratings of this “resort” the only thing it has going for itself is the location, though it is also not a beach front resort, you have to walk two blocks to get to the beach. Book elsewhere!

The location cannot be beat. Extremely walkable neighborhood. Cross the street to the state park for kayaking, canoeing or bike rentals. (But don't forget your DEET!)

The property was a little run down. I didn't get the room that was advertised. The pool was closed. The beach wasn't walkable cause it sank in and you had to walk on an incline. I was surprised how warm the ocean was, not refreshing at the end of May?
