No aircon Food was average in taste, some we didn’t finish as we didn’t like it (eg pancake wasn’t fluffy, dumplings were so dry etc) Lots of bugs everywhere Some poor furnitures (rusty, brown stains etc)

Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the price at all. At over NZD 500 per night, we expected a comfortable and well-equipped stay, but the reality was quite disappointing. Although the property is located by the sea, the room has no air conditioning and no window screens. When the doors and windows are closed, the room becomes extremely hot and stuffy, with only a fan for ventilation. However, if the doors or windows are left open, large numbers of insects enter the room, including mosquitoes and other bugs covering the bed sheets and walls. We also encountered geckos frequently crawling inside the room, which made the stay very uncomfortable. In addition, the building itself feels very basic. The floor makes loud creaking noises when walking, and there is almost no sound insulation, giving the impression of a temporary or simple structure rather than a hotel at this price point. The shower experience was also very poor. The water temperature was extremely difficult to control, fluctuating between hot and cold, and it took a very long time for the water to heat up. The location was another major issue. The hotel is extremely difficult to find, located more than 40 minutes’ drive from the city, with very poor road conditions. The access roads are rough, bumpy dirt roads, making it challenging or even unsuitable for small cars. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is strongly recommended. In addition, signage is very unclear, and there are almost no clear directions along the way. Reaching the property felt more like a matter of luck after a long and uncomfortable drive. Overall, this accommodation feels more like a basic beach hut than a premium hotel. The price is not justified by the facilities, location, or overall living conditions, and we hope the management will seriously consider improving these issues.

The service was amazing, all the staff were so friendly, one of us was sick and they went out of their way to care for us providing medicine and room service. The ammenities were great, such a beautiful location and also amazinggg food in the restaurant!

We had an amazing stay at this charming, secluded hotel right on the beach. The location is perfect for those looking to escape and relax, with stunning views and direct access to the beach. The hotel features a lovely pool and a fantastic restaurant that offers great local cuisine. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night after a day in the sun. A super friendly owner, Steve made us feel right at home and went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway with great amenities and warm hospitality.

Everything was great

Such a wonderful stay at M Resort. The location is incredible, matched only by the beautiful staff. Special mention to Sina, Stella and all the kitchen staff for the delicious food! We were also very lucky to have the amazing Selena look after our 20 month old. She loved her from the first minute she met her and we were able to relax properly for the first time. Would highly recommend!!
