Credit where it’s due: the owner was friendly at check-in and accommodated my late arrival without issue. I have nothing bad to say about him personally, though I noticed he could be short with other guests at times. The positives: • Close to the city center • Easy to reach day or night • Comfortable beds • Blankets and small towels provided • Owner was accommodating with my late check-in

If you’re a backpacker looking for a proper hostel experience in Chisinau, this is a no-go. Buddha Hostel functions less as a travelers’ hostel and more as low-cost accommodation for people who come to Moldova to work, which sets the tone for everything else. Expect zero privacy. There are curtains around the beds, but more importantly, there is no hostel culture here. Nobody respects quiet hours or the basic idea that other people are trying to rest. Conversations start around 7am, and at night people keep turning lights on and off, watching videos on their phones out loud, and making noise without a second thought. There is only one toilet with a shower for the entire room. It smells, it’s dirty, and it does not feel safe. The doors are always open and anyone can come and go freely, so I had to carry my valuables with me at all times. The kitchen has a gas stove and a fridge, but it’s usually occupied by the long-term residents, so cooking is not really an option in practice.

Удобное расположение, женская комната очень уютная, мне понравилось, пришлось задержаться в хостеле, мне понравилось, персонал очень вежливый, администратору отдельное спасибо за помощь и отзывчивость.

Nice roommates, nice staff, good place for the price.
