Flat 1 - The Old Mill - Bowbridge Lock - Stroud

Der Vermieter hat uns ein Frühstücks-Starterpaket (Müsli, Tee, Milch, usw.) für uns bereit gelegt. Sehr schönes Badezimmer, gut ausgestattete Kücke (mit Gaskochfeld) und Waschmaschine. Genug Platz für zwei Personen. Schönes altes Gebäude, schön restauriert. Wenig Deko, daher genug Ablageflächen.

Keine ausreichende Beleuchung am Esstisch, trotz wackelicher Stehlampe. Defekte LED-Birnen mussten ausgetauscht werden, diese waren aber vorhanden. Das Bett war ok für ein paar Tage, hätte aber für einen längeren Aufenthalt bequemer sein können. Möbel im Essbereich billig (Esstisch sehr niedrig), wackeliger Barhocker (nicht benutzbar). Haus sehr hellhörig, lauter Nachbar bis früh morgens. In einer Nacht mussten wir um 1:00 Uhr laut um Nachtruhe bitten/rufen.

A comfortable apartment in a converted old mill, the location was perfect for exploring Stroud and Nailsworth. The owners seemed to have thought of everything, they had provided a lot of useful info about the area. It was nicely furnished and we appreciated having Netflix (a few books would have been nice as well?). A comfortable bed but the duvet was a bit heavy for summer. We enjoyed walks along the river and canal (just be aware of cyclists on the tow path as we had a very close shave!). There was a very handy Waitrose just a short walk away.

Lighting was very good in the bathroom but could not use miror for putting on make-up as it must have been put up by someone over 6' tall, we could only see the top of our heads! No full length mirror in the bedroom. Kitchen well stocked but needed more than two bowls. There is no direct access to the outside seating area and two steep steps down to the door.

Perfect location, a short walk into Storud, and an even shorter one to Waitrose and the pub! The flat backas on to a canal, and a beuatiful mile walk along the tow path leads to a brewery - what's not to like?

Close to canal & 25 min walk to Stroud town centre. A cool haven on a scorching hot day. Comfortable bed Facilities good for our 2 night stay We stayed for Forest Live at Westonbirt Arboretum, approx 30 min drive Great Saturday Farmers Market in lovely location 25 min walk to Stroud Brewery & Tap House Canal Museum was interesting

Used dish sponge with food on it! Dirty cutlery drawer. Musty tea towels. Kitchen could do with a thorough deep clean. Soil pipe is boxed in, but internal in the bathroom, off of the bedroom. Sound of flats above flush descending, whilst laying in bed wasn't nice & unpleasant smells in bathroom, presumably from soil pipe vent. Towels were smelly by our last (2nd) morning One pub close by, which didn't draw us in. Otherwise, a 25 min walk, along canal, to get anywhere decent. Wouldn't fancy walking back, from town, along the canal after dark. Hadn't received the welcome message/pin for the keysafe, in booking.com app. Tried calling owner 6 times, only to get voicemail. They rang back 15 mins after our check in time. Said they had sent the message, but for some reason, it hadn't come through to me.

Location, confortable, well equipped

We had trouble finding the key safe and had to ask a resident. Perhaps more detailed instructions on location of key safe 🤷‍♀️

Great area. Washing machine was helpful. On-site parking.

Noise from the flat upstairs was an issue sometimes.

Comfy bed 🛌 and clean

Location was perfect for short break, walking distance from station, town centre, pubs, canal and hill walking. Peaceful location. Quiet, secluded terrace area. Very clean and comfortable, well equipped. Very comfortable bed! Enjoyed the cards and backgammon.

Bit disappointed that no view of hills or canal from flat. Would have loved some books to read as we ran out. Sink in bathroom very small, bit awkward to use.
