1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa

I love the atmosphere and the history behind it. It was an excellent stay.

The only thing I liked was the location.

When I arrived at the hotel I asked them if they could please use a different credit to pay for my stay and they told me no. My room was old a very run down. The bathroom was nasty. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.

The staff was great. The historic story of the facility was fascinating. The main lobby and interior really gave you the feeling of what it was like in its prime. Good pizza and wings and a nice breakfast,

Once we walked into our room, everything changed. It was shabby, dark with very few lights. The carpet was rumpled and looked unclean so we kept our socks on. The bathroom seemed unclean with dirty grout and broken toilet seat. Very few outlets and no charging stations available for our use. I guess the creaky floors added to the experience but the room was anything but inviting. There wasn't even a bottle of water offered, only an old school coffee maker set atop an empty half fridge.

The price was just a little high

Its a beautiful historic hotel that lives up to its reputation as a resort hotel for the area. The pizza is good but a little pricey. Jasper the cat runs the place.

Be mindful, if you intend to drive there in winter, all the roads are up and down hills. Navigating them will be troublesome. The town is a little too eclectic but the history is interesting.
