"nothing for people with demands above the asian lower "class""

4.0

The hotel personnel was very friendly and also showed me around the minimalist kitchen area. The toilet also had a lavatory brush. My area had two different rooms, though without any kind of real room divider. My room had several power connections. One place in every room, and a third one in the room with the bed wasn't working. The only really comfortable facility in my room was the plastic garden chair. Since I've never been to Asia and also any muslim area, it was a totally new experience to hear the call of the muezzins to the prayer, sometimes even in a choral, as there are two mosques nearby, one in the more backside of the area and the other one on the next bigger street "Jalan Raya Tengah". Once on midday this was so intensive that I was really flashed. I also recorded it. I think one really has to like this kind of choral! :)

The bed was rather uncomfortable and my back hurted a little bit. There was only one small table, like the one on the second picture with the many black stools. The other one was a shelf space, so mounted on the wall. And with my most important stuff, this was already full, so not bigger than a sheet of paper (A4). This is the first point, why the facilities didn't match with the indications entered. The rather small table could be only used as a dining table OR a desk... Then you can't really say that there is a nice "view", as the whole dormitory is on the ground floor and also in the middle of a rather poor area. So you see only houses, and only with two upper floors in maximum... The "Free toiletries" were also at very low prices. Those were in the bathroom unit: Several soaps in the holder and one shampoo in a mini container, where you push. One tube layed on the ground, I think it was toothpaste. Now the wet room was really small, not even twice as big, as an ordinary shower room. On the upper ground there was the defecating area, without a toilet bowl, just the most minimal version of a toilet where you have to knee down. This was also the showering area. The pressure on the shower head, was really little, so I always had to use one hand to hold it... On the lower area there was a big bucket with a big scoop. So this is actually the traditional way, how to shower in Indonesia. I really expected that it would also work with the shower head... What I also didn't expect is that there would be so much really big cockroaches... They would come out every evening and in maximum I counted six of them. They stay in the "bathroom" between the wall and the doorframe, or in the hole of the drain... In the SHARED Kitchen there were several tools, but only a few of them, so there weren't much possibilities for cooking. There was also a razorblade.
