Compass Point 103

Absolutely loved our stay! Wish we could book it the next three years for fall break! The view was spectacular! 10 days of beautiful sunsets every night, a private fishing pier that saved our trip due to weather! Comfy beds, shower water pressure was great, loved having washer and dryer! The back covered porch was awesome! They are doing a complete face-lift to the building, its so pretty! The contractors were so polite and friendly, so crazy what they accomplished in the ten days we were there! Lots of construction was not an inconvenience at all to us! Location couldn't be more perfect!

We were disappointed the inside pool wasn't open (getting renovated) or the little beach area not mentioned, but this was due to safety with construction. The outside pool was open and nice! But overall, did not affect our stay! The worst thing was not having enough forks! Lol But, plenty of spoons so we survived! 😉

What i liked was being with my family.

What i didn't like was no one told me construction was going on all day long. It started at 7:15 a.m. and continued until dark. Constant hammering. We could not enjoy our outside patio because the construction workers had some sort of lift outside our window and patio was dusty. Woke up one morning and construction worker was on balcony. It would have been better if someone would have told us. All this was a complete surprise. I would like to have the option to know about the construction. In saying all of this I feel like someone should be offering my family some sort of refund for the things we had to encountered. I'm not someone who complains lot about anything but this was something that could have been avoided if someone would have let us know. As it stands I feel like Booking should have done a lot better job feeling us in on the details.

Location was good.

The condo had multiple leaks arise, and the balcony could not be used the whole time due to debris and plaster dirt constantly being blown on to it from the construction. One of the best parts of vacation is being able to sit out on a balcony and enjoy the views. The booking also stated that construction would not start until after 8 each morning, but it started around 7 instead. I understand that I booked a condo that was under construction and was okay with that when reading about it. However, the listing was not fully transparent with the severity of it. That is why it has received a poor review.

Building looked old and not properly cared for.

We liked the view of the pier below us and the solitude of Little Lagoon. As for the unit, we enjoyed the water pressure of the showers and comfort of the mattresses. We really enjoyed the outdoors pool and the views from it. Another plus is that Compass Point is a short drive from restaurants and public beaches and not in the center of Gulf Shores.

The kitchen wasn’t as well-equipped as the unit we stayed in previously. For example, there was no colander or can opener. The glasses in the cabinets weren’t clean. The screen on the master bedroom sliding door was off track when we arrived. Someone had set the TV in the master bedroom to return to Gunsmoke at the beginning of each episode.

Loved everything about this room. The doors to the balcony were easy to open and locked well. The sofa folds out into a queen size bed. The view was so pretty, especially at sunset. Loved sitting on the balcony watching people fish also.

The guest bathroom. It was really small. I had to sit sideway on the toilet just so the toilet paper wouldn't hit my leg while I was trying to "handle business." Also, the indoor pool was closed for renovations.
