2 Bedroom Kapaa Condo, Pool, AC, Beach Access KK116

It totally met ALL of my expectations!

I loved everything about it!

The condo came supplied with beach/pool items and basic pantry staples which was great!

Location is really good, there’s a supermarket and small shopping area across the road including McDonald’s and Subway. It’s also very close to the town centre of Kapaa which is really nice. You can walk to the beach from the property and although a public beach it feels private and quiet. You’re provided with a good number of towels and all the pots and pans you need for cooking. There’s also some oils and things like that which is very helpful.

When we booked this property we were under the impression that there was Air-Conditioning however a few weeks out from when we were due to stay the host messaged to say the AC unit was broken and unlikely to be fixed by the time of our stay. We had already paid the full amount at this stage and due to the busy period were unable to look for alternative accommodation. The host informed that they were willing to provide a 10% refund however it was only for the daily rate rather than total stay, which they did not confirm at the point of agreeing the refund. Without AC the apartment is absolutely boiling. We had to try our best to cool down but even in winter it was impossible and made staying in the apartment a really bad experience. The internet in the apartment doesn’t work very well. It would work fine at times and then would stop working randomly for long periods meaning you couldn’t watch TV and as there is really poor phone signal in Kauai and the apartment you can’t access mobile data either. This made use of the television pretty pointless. The apartment is overall clean but I wouldn’t say to a very good standard. If this was a friends house I would have absolutely no problem but as I’m paying money to stay here it’s not great. The pantry has remnants of what looks like mould and a weird smell. The bath/shower area also has mould and shower head doesn’t look very clean. There’s sticky dust areas throughout the apartment also. On top of everything they then also provide a check out checklist which involves having to clean dishes and wash towels. While no issue for us, again if I’m paying to stay at this apartment for a holiday I don’t understand why I have to do this rather than the towels being replaced and cleaned externally between guests. All in all really feels like the hosts are just trying to do the bare minimum while getting as much profit which is a shame because it could be a really good place to stay.

The pool was very small. The furnishings were dirty. It was quite small.

Like the layout and being close to swimming pool.

Service man responded very quickly. I just didn't call till day before we left. Air conditioner not working right and toilet run all night. Hard to get on and off hwy 56

Location was good. Great not to have a key and just use the code. Also great to be able to wash and use dryer.

We could have done with something to hang togs on and things that don’t go in the dryer

Very clean, nice beach, location, atmosphere

Washing machine needed repair which could be repaired before our stay. Issue was not solved during our stay. Outside chairs were damaged
