古民家でしたが、きれいでした。 崎津集落の街並みが素敵でした。 また泊まるまでのオーナーさんの丁寧な対応が良かったです。

湯呑みが汚れている物がありました。

"Slice of local living"

8.0

Typical Japanese house in the middle of a small fishing village sandwiched between hill and harbour. Very well equiped to experience a slice of japanese living. We were not there to see the church but it and the history of the area were a bonus on top of morning and evening walks along the village and waterfront. We knew we had to cater for ourselves which was fine.

It might detract from the traditional ambience that the house seeks to provide, but a place to sit such as a stool other than on cushions downstairs would have been nice for two old westerners.

"美しい海と優しい人々。"

10.0

飛行機が遅延し、予定より大幅に遅れて着きましたが、オーナーはとても優しく迎えてくださいました。私たちは豪華な宿よりも、地域に暮らすような旅が好きなので、この宿に泊まり朝に夕に散策し、崎津の地に滞在できたこと、優しい町の人々、美しい海と漁村の風景、ちいさな教会に出会えたことが大きな喜びです。また帰ってきます。

なし。

"Exceptional"

"Enjoyable stay that we wish we had more time there"

Enjoyed having the whole mini house to ourselves with full kitchen & washing machine. A traditional Japanese tatami house that’s clean. Staff if friendly and responds quickly to our questions.

"Living here is like putting on the shoes of a resident in Sakitsu Village. Highly recommended !"

8.0

It was a modest house in the middle of Sakitsu Village, within walking distance to every tourist spot recommended in Sakitsu Village. Though it wasn’t a new property and showed signs of ageing, it was still absolutely charming. The carpark was just a 2-min walk away. Sakitsu Village is quaint, tiny and quiet. Before coming here, it’s necessary to buy your own dinner and breakfast because everything closes by 4pm and we didn’t see any eateries at all. I read that the only Sashimi shop closed by 2pm daily. There’s also no onsen here. So we drove to nearby Himoda for onsen.

We had some problems trying to use the stove and also the water boiler because we couldn’t read Japanese. Maybe it’ll be helpful for the owner to leave instructions to help lodgers along :-)

"Fabulous location, excellent host!"

10.0

Amazing host! Very kind and responsive. We accidentally left our earbuds in the house and they sent them to us immediately without charge. The location is great, right inside the cultural heritage village. You can see the sea from the first floor too. Would recommend anyone who is visiting Amakusa!

"Would absolutely recommend this gorgeous place and would stay here again if I come back to Sakitsu!"

9.0

We loved this cute place! Our host met us to give us keys and tell us where to park (offsite but within walking distance), and she was very warm, sweet, and accommodating. The place was clean, comfortable, and everything worked (aircon, hotwater, bidet toilet, etc). The location is stunning and right on the water. The view from the upstairs bedroom was gorgeous, and offered a spectacular view of the fjord on which the entire town is sitting. Everything is within walking distance, including the famous Sakitsu Catholic Church (a world heritage site).

My ONLY criticism (because everything else was absolutely lovely) is that last checkin time is posted at 19:00 on booking, so we felt a little pressured to get there on time. We would have arrived later after dinner if we weren't worried about making last checkin. A key box with combination lock to collect keys would be a nice option. Oh also there was an area of mold in one small corner of the house in the downstairs living area, inside a cabinet. Looked like there was water damage and it hadn't been fixed yet. But we just kept the cabinet closed and it really didn't cause us any problems.
