USThe photos of the home were obviously taken some time ago. When we walked in, I thought “let’s give it the benefit of the doubt”, but no. The area is not the best (there are three locks on the back door, yet there were windows that didn’t close or lock. Worse than that it appeared they were trying to not let you see that fact. In the living area, the couch was shoved up against the windows with the curtains pulled tight. I wanted to look in the backyard to see if it looked like the picture on the booking site (It did not) and realized that one of the windows wasn’t closed all the way, and when we investigated it, the lock wouldn’t lock. This caused my husband to walk around the house and check others, and there were a total of four that didn’t close or lock. I reached out to the property owner and told him. He did say he would change the locks or fix the locks, but it was already pretty late in the evening and after driving to get there, we did not feel the need to hang around and wait for that. Nor did we feel safe staying in the location. I extended that sentiment to the owner. I indicated that I would certainly expect him to keep one night of our rental, but didn’t feel like we should pay for three nights and requested a refund. The next day he indicated that the locks were fixed (he said only one was supposedly broken), and refused. So I’m sure he will dispute this review, as he did another bad review that, unfortunately, I didn’t see until it was to late. Lesson learned. Make sure you check reviews frequently before your cancellation period! Also, unfortunately, I didn’t think to take pictures while we were there. I realize I should have to collaborate what I’m saying, so anyone reading this will have to take it at face value.
