"Yamanaka Onsen Kur Backpackers: Great place"

It was very comfortable, clean, well localed. The staff was súper friendly. 4 minutes away from the bus station and the local bath house. 7 minutes away from the river strolling area. Great valué

Kitchen area availability, good shower room, friendly and polite staff, was a good location for my needs

I felt a bit uncomfortable that there was a camera in the dining room as there is also a rule that guests are only allowed to eat in that room, but I can partially understand it. Also, there is no mirror in the shower room, so I had to shave in another room with a sink and a mirror where there was no door. So I had to risk being seen shirtless by others.

"It is great for authentic "deep Japan" experience at a very good price."

It is great location and the hostess is very helpful and friendly. The shared kitchen is big and offers authentic tableware. It's amazing if you want to cook for yourself, but there's also many restaurants nearby and onsens all in a walking distance.

The mattresses are towards smaller size and on the floor (keep in mind if booking for someone who needs higher comfort) and overall the hotel is cold. There are electric heaters that heat up the room quickly, but it cools down just as quick after turning it off. There's also no shelves or closet for clothes or thing, but there are hangers and 2 chairs. There's no private car park, but guests can use a public parking in 5 min walking distance.

"Needed a cheap place to crash for three people in Kaga and it worked perfectly."

Great location, room was nice, & bedding was better than expected. The place exceeded my companions expectations.

My only complaint was that the heater in the room made an alarm-like noise in the middle of the night that woke me up.

"Best stay in the Yamanaka area!"

Great location, very close to one of the main public baths in the area. Great owners! They can tell you about all the good spots in Yamanaka. Great beds, with many layers to keep you warm.

Convenient location in Yamanaka Onsen - near the bus stop and the Kurotani Bridge entrance to the walking trail. There was a nice commons area. Staff seemed serious, but I think that was partly due to the language barrier - she did teach me some Japanese, which I really appreciated!

It would be nice if they could provide bath towels.
