Ora, home on the sea.

We loved the location of this cozy studio near the Old Town in Split. We walked up cobblestone streets and through the church courtyard to get to the building, where the helpful owner met up for the handoff. We loved the light pouring through the tall windows in the morning, opening the shutters, and hearing the bells from the church around the corner. It's just a short walk back down the cobblestone streets to the Old Town and all the main attractions. (We came in from the bus station which is about a 20 minute walk with luggage, with cobblestones partway.) We thought the bed was comfy - not too hard, and not too soft. We work while we travel and the internet was reliable and tested at about 35 mbps. We didn't need A/C much but when we turned it on it worked great. Water pressure in the shower was fine.

We like to eat a home for one or two meals a day but the cooking options are limited with just two burners, no microwave, and very basic kitchen items. If you want to eat out though there are lots of options nearby. There are a few quirks like the bathroom door doesn't shut properly and the water heater is small but we made it work.

Very nice little apartment in the heart of the old city! It has lots of great windows that open out to beautiful views, and the owner is very friendly and kind.

Marko was a great host, meeting us at the property and showing us around. The location of the apartment was slightly off the beaten track but that meant it was very quiet, and the centre was only a short walk away. The facilities were everything we needed. Marko allowed us to check out late so that we could miss the rain shower. We would certainly stay again.

Location was amazing, having the cooking facilities was very helpful as eating out in split can be very expensive and Marko the host was exceptional. He let us use his 2 bikes so we could cycle on Brac to Sutivan which was the highlight of our trip and his help and recommendations were brilliant. We will definitely be coming back to this apartment.

The location for exploring Split was fantastic. Cafes and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The waterfront was easy to get to and at that point you're in the centre.

What is not advertised for any of the Old Town properties we looked at was the pedestrian only area, no cabs or bus can get you near the properties. We caught the very handy shuttle bus from the airport which drops you at the port, right beside the old town. But the walk dragging suitcases in 35° summer weather, over cobbles and ancient stone pavers, up hill to the property was not fun, especially as we didn't expect it.
