Beautiful place, nice and helpful staff, comfy beds.

Only one bathroom and shower, on the floor below the room. However there were only two rooms, so not a big deal.

A delightful, rustic hostel set on a rural property surrounded by blueberry and melon farms. Hosts Akinari and Kumiko are kind and accommodating. While their English is limited (as is our Japanese), communication was warm and simple. An array of playful cats greeted us at various times, which absolutely delighted our children — they wanted to take one home! Breakfasts (¥1000) are superb, with a generous selection of savoury delights including soup, salads, meat, and eggs. The hand-roasted coffee, served with light cream, was excellent. Our family of five was very comfortable across two rooms, accessed via a narrow staircase. The bathroom (with shower and toilet) is downstairs, along with a washing machine that also dries clothes. Our three children loved the homely setting — comfy beds, warm doonas, and a cosy atmosphere.

The only downside was the lack of a kitchenette for basic food preparation. However, the host kindly allowed us to heat our food on the first night. Your options are otherwise to eat out or bring food that requires no preparation. There is a kettle and tea-making facilities in the shared downstairs space, which also features an upright piano, guitar, and ukulele. The opportunity to play music, sing, and play games (we brought our own) was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. One tip: if you copy the address directly into Google Maps, it may take you to a completely different location — double-check directions before setting off.

The breakfast for just Y1000 and coffee for Y500 was the best part of our stay! And that's saying a lot because we loved it all. She is such a good cook and he roasts the coffee on premises! So good.

It was a little inconvenient having the toilet and shower facilities on the first floor and the room on the second, but that it outweighed by the positives of the stay - the comfortable futons, the ambience.
