"Last minute booking at 10.30pm in Coventry that was cheap and available in the centre."

5.0

The last minute availability of a room in Coventry but it wasn't what I was really expecting as it was mostly populated by students

1. No staff at reception during the late evening for checking into the premises. I did manage to speak to Janet on the phone who was very nice to help with getting into the apartment. We were lucky as a returning student came back to the building and let us in. 2. NO HOT WATER due to a broken pump that was to be fixed in the morning but really needed a hot shower after travelling. Should have been refunded at least a small amount as a token gesture. If this was a proper hotel, a discount would have been given on checkout for the inconvenience. 3. The mattress was awful. Too soft. It felt like you were sinking into the mattress. It wasn't great. Premier Inn beds are probably the most comfortable for a budget hotel chain. Naturally more expensive hotels will have their own levels of mattress comfort. Also the bed was short in length. I am 184cm tall. My feet stuck out. 4. The spiral staircase is too narrow and dangerous. For younger people it might be okay but I'm 50 and the steps were narrow and shallow. A recipe for disaster. I'm lucky I didn't break my neck and sue the company for injury damages. This is only a matter of time before someone does have an accident. 5. NO COFFEE MACHINE. You have coffee pods in the room but no machine. How does that work? 6. No TV. Not a major selling point but it would have been nice. 7. Bathroom accessories. No shower cream available. Only shampoo. Also, no toothbrush and toothpaste kits provided. 8. The room window was still open when we entered the room. This made the room cold. 9. The light switches were badly designed and in the wrong place especially in the bedroom area. Who puts a light switch and USB charging port at the side of the bed near your legs. 10. As this was primarily a student accommodation, some kind of warning should be in place. The use of a single room card to allow entry into the building, corridor and door is great for security but not appropriate for non-student adults staying.
