Suite 7 - Sleeping Giant Hotel - Pen Y Cae Inn

Property was close to the four waterfall walk

Hotel is too close to the main road. Room fixtures were relatively new but kind of cheap and there was no desk: hence I could not use my laptop. The heating in the bathroom did not work and it was cold. The restaurant was disappointing: on the first night I was told I could not book a table for dinner as there was a wedding going on. I did book a table for 7pm on the second night but, when I went there on time, I was told there was no table for me and that I had to wait till one became available; I ended up leaving because it would have taken too long; note that I did see that there were two tables still free in the restaurant but the staff refused to seat me on those as they had apparently been reserved for someone else. I think this treatment was not fair as I was a guest of the hotel, I had booked earlier and I should have had priority in line with what is advertised on booking.com.

Excellent location, beautifully decorated and comfortable, close to the pub for dining and breakfast. Such friendly, helpful staff. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Comfortable, clean, excellent value for money.

Underfloor heating in the bathroom didn’t come on so it was very cold in there.

Good location in Brecon Beacons convenient to good motorways M4 and superb new heads of valley road

Simpler instructions on lighting and heating controls

Very new so absolutely pristine. Beautifully laid out and well equipped. Shower fabulous.

Could do with a rug to cosy it up to absorb that empty sound but understand why not to have one. Quite expensive with no breakfast.
